Configure POS printers for bar and kitchen printing

Introduction

In this section we are going to explain how to connect printers in the restaurant: bar, kitchen, etc. This way you will be able to send from any PC in the dining room the order to the kitchen or bar.

In Golfmanager we strongly recommend to use the digital kitchen module and forget about tickets for the following reasons:

  • Saving paper and equipment.

  • Fewer incidents, since the printing method involves many third parties for it to work perfectly (network, printer, antivirus, etc.).

  • You can work with more than one kitchen or bar.

  • The digital ticket also has other advantages:

    • You can control the cooking time of the products.

    • You can check from anywhere the status of each dish.

If you have still decided to continue with the printing method, follow the next steps to add a printer to the system:

  • Click on Add printer.

  • Fill in the name. For example: "kitchen", "bar", etc.

  • Fill in the IP of the server where this printer is located. Usually localhost:9823.

  • Select the printer, which must be previously installed on your PC and click save.

Once you have the printers registered, you have to tell Golfmanager on which printer to print each product. Normally the food is printed only in the kitchen, and the drinks in the bar.

To do this we will go to each of the subfamilies that have restaurant products and select one of the printers we have registered. In this way, when sending the order to print in the kitchen, the system will look at each product of the ticket and will print it on the correct printer looking at the configuration of the subfamily of each product.
