Download printer software

To install the ticket printer in Golfmanager, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Configuration Menu > Tpv > Download printer programme

  2. The ticket printer file will be downloaded.

  3. Install the executable on the computer

  4. An icon will appear in the task bar, bottom right corner next to the clock.

  5. Right click on the blue logo and click select printer

  6. Select the appropriate ticket printer

  7. Save

Leave "start printer automatically" enabled

It may be that both your antivirus and Windows Defender detect and prevent the downloaded file from running. In this case, add the necessary exclusions to both in order to install the executable "printer program".

Golfmanager is a company that cares about the sustainability of the planet and that is why we advocate the non-use of printers and recommend the use of the digital ticket sent by email. To make use of the automatic sending of the digital ticket you will have to activate an advanced configuration as follows:

  1. Go to Configuration Menu > General setting> Advanced and create a new advanced configuration with the following data

Name: billing.sendTicketByEmail

Value: true

Pública: Si

You can also use the digital ticket manually by activating the checkbox that you will find in the payment window when making a payment at the POS, as shown in the image.

Printer models

Any type of thermal printer will do to use the printing program. If your club needs to buy a new printer, GolfManager recommends the Epson TMT20 and Epson TMT88V.

We do not recommend the use of multifunction printers.

Compatible tablets

If you want to use a tablet in the restaurant, you will have to use the Windows operating system.

Why is the printer not printing?

In the event that you have the file you wish to print installed, but it does not print, please follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that the option to print manually is not enabled in the Cash registers setting > Printer section. Visit this link for more information.

  2. Make sure that the type of printer is not configured as Browser in the Cash registers setting > in the Printer section > in the Type field. Visit this link for more information.

  3. There are also the following options, reasons, and points to consider:

    1. Please ensure that you have selected the correct printer in the blue icon of the printer and that the option "start printer automatically" has been selected (on the screen, the other option "Do not start automatically")

    2. Ensure that the Advanced configuration is set to pos.newPrinterUrl

    3. Make sure there are no warnings in the antivirus program

    4. Make sure that the printer is turned on

    5. Make sure that the computer is connected to the cable

    6. The browser, the printer, and the computer should be restarted

    7. Windows versions older than Windows 10 may not work

    8. Unplug the printer from your computer and reconnect it.

    9. Plug the printer back into the mains after unplugging it.

    10. Search for Printers on that computer, find the ticket printer, select Open Queue, and cancel all printing.

    11. Try printing a test page from Control Panel > Devices and printers > right-click the printer > Printer properties > Print test page. Two options are available:

      1. The system may have a problem if you print a test page. Please contact our customer service department.

      2. There is an issue with your printer, as it does not print a test page. If the printer is not working, please contact your technical support.

Why is the printer printing late?

If at any time the printer stops working or prints with a delay, it may be due to a Chrome update. In this case please contact the Golfmanager support team.

What can I do if the printer has stopped working and I have tried all possible options?

Uninstall the original executable, GolfmanagerPrinter.exe, to do this you will need to locate where it was originally installed and reinstall the original. See here how to do it

How do I activate the new version of 'Printer' in Golfmanager?

We have now fixed the problems with CHROME 98.0.4758.102 (Official Build) (64 bits) (February/2022) and we have prepared a short guide that shows in very few steps, what you must do to have the new version of 'Printer' available and running smoothly.

1.- Exit the current print program

  • Click on the little arrow next to the clock in the right corner of the windows bar.

  • Right click on the blue printer logo.

  • Click on "Exit".

2.- Install the advanced configuration pos.newPrinterUrl

  • Go to Configuration > General Settings > Advanced

  • Click on "New"

  • Fill in the required fields as indicated below and click on Save

    • Name: pos.newPrinterUrl

    • Value: true

    • Public: Active

3.- Download the new Print program

To install the ticket printer in Golfmanager, follow these steps:

  • Go to Configuration > POS > Download printer program.

  • The ticket printer file - GolfmanagerPrinter.exe will be downloaded.

  • Install the GolfmanagerPrinter.exe executable on the computer.

  • An icon will appear in the taskbar, bottom right corner next to the clock.

  • Right click on the blue logo and click select printer

  • Select the appropriate ticket printer

  • Save

Leave the "start printer automatically" enabled

4.- Confirm that the printer type is "Ticket printer".

  • Go to Configuration > Invoicing > Cash registers

  • Click on the ID of the corresponding cash drawer

  • Select "Ticket printer" in the "Type" cell.

5.- If you use the Restaurant module, make sure you use the correct IP.

If you use different printers to print the bar or kitchen orders you must make sure you use the correct Server IP. To do this...

  • Go to Configuration > POS > Restaurant printers

  • Check and replace, if necessary, "localhost" by "127.0.0.1"

NOW EVERYTHING IS READY TO PRINT

Antivirus and Firewall

If you want to install the printer, and Google Chrome, your antivirus or Windows defender block the installation, you must follow the following steps:

1. Download the printer software file from General Configuration > POS > Download Printer Software 2. You may see a malicious file warning when downloading, click on the 3 dots in Google Chrome located in the top right corner of the browser, 3. Click on downloads and allow the download of the file

4. Allow the download of the posprinter.exe file by clicking on **keep dangerous file**.

Now go to Windows Defender to accept our posprinter.exe file.

Go to Start > Settings > Updating and Security > Windows Security > Virus and Threat Protection. Under Virus and Threat Protection settings, select Manage settings, and then under Exclusions, select Add or remove exclusions. 3. Select Add an exclusion, and then select from files, folders, file types, or the process. The exclusion will also apply to sub-folders within a folder.

Now, under download go to the downloaded file posprinter.exe, right click and under general tab click on unlock.

If you do not use Windows and have other antivirus software such as McAfee you can also exclude individual files from scanning.

McAfee security software programs for Windows or macOS, allow you to exclude individual files in order to skip scanning them for viruses with the product's Real-Time Scanning feature.

Files you exclude will not be scanned when you double-click to run them, or when these files read or write to your disks. If the file selected for exclusion is an application, such as an .exe in Windows, you can also exclude the read and write actions of the application.
