August 2026 - What's New

Structured Visit Notes

Every note, every shift, at a glance.

Visit notes are now structured instead of free text, so your team logs pet care consistently and issues surface automatically instead of getting buried in a wall of text.

What's new:

  • Consistent logging — Medication, Feeding, Potty, Activity, and Condition notes all follow the same format, so every shift knows what to look for

  • Issues surface automatically — refused meds, skipped meals, and flagged conditions are highlighted in the notes drawer

  • Faster answers at pickup — filter and sort notes by type and date

  • One click from a pet's profile — jump into notes from the Visits & Purchases tab

  • A compliance record — pull a report of every note across any date range, with owner contact info and invoice links

How it works:

  1. Open Visit Notes on the invoice (works on Meet & Greet invoices too)

  2. Pick a note type and time of day (AM, Lunch, PM, Bedtime, Other)

  3. Log the outcome

Deposit Settings

Configure deposits your way — always require one, allow no-deposit bookings, or use seasonal rules for both. The Deposit Settings page shows your payment options, standard policies, and seasonal policies in one place.

Standard Policies: Choose whether to always require a deposit or let owners book online without one. If you require a deposit, you can also set automatic refunds for timely cancellations.

Seasonal Policies: Set different deposit rules for specific date ranges — for example, require a deposit only the week before Thanksgiving, or raise your standard 50% deposit to 100% between Christmas and New Year's.

Overlapping policies: Goose supports overlapping seasonal policies. Use the up/down arrows to set priority — by default, the most recently added policy wins. Example: standard summer weekends require a 50% deposit, but ranking Labor Day Weekend above it means that weekend requires 100% instead.
