Setting a Check-in & Check-Out Policy

Set up surcharging for early/late check in/out.

Goose gives you the ability to set a surcharge based on when your customer checks-in/out. This functionality is essential to help you control your business day and be compensated for going above and beyond for your customers.

There are four options for setting up your policies:

  1. No Restrictions - A pet can be checked in at any time during business hours and no fees will be automatically applied in any situation

  2. Suggested Times - Customers are encouraged to check-in/out during specific hours but no fees will be applied

  3. Enforced Times - Check in/out times are enforced and fees are applied for pets arriving before check-in times or departing after their check-out late.

  4. Based on Arrival Time - Check in at anytime during business hours. Late fees will be applied at check out based on the number of hours allotted for this service

    1. For boarding if a pet is checked in on their first day at 12 noon and checked out at 4 pm on their checkout day there will be a surcharge since the time has surpassed 24 hours

  5. After Hours Fee - A surcharge can be set if the pet is checked in/out during non-business hours

These settings are unique to each service that you provide. You will be able to set up different hours for Boarding and Daycare.

The following are the requirements for setting up different Check-in/out policies:

  1. Configure the Check-In/Out hours

Enforced Times

  1. Configure the Check-In/Out hours

  2. Configure your Early Arrival and Late Departure Fee

    1. Click into the appropriate Primary Service

    2. Select Hours & Fees

    3. Click into the Fees section in the upper right hand corner

    4. Click "Add Late Departure Fee"

      1. Name the Fee

      2. Set a time frame that it will apply to

      3. Set the amount

      4. Set the days that it apply's to

        1. These fees can either be temporal like for busy holiday times

        2. These fees can be across every day

      5. Click Save

    5. Click "Add Early Arrival Fees"

      1. Repeat the steps in D to create the fee

Based on Arrival Time

  1. Configure your Late Departure Fee

    1. Click into the appropriate Primary Service

    2. Select Hours & Fees

    3. Click into the Fees section in the upper right hand corner

    4. Click "Add Late Departure Fee"

      1. Name the Fee

      2. Set a time frame that it will apply to

      3. Set the amount

      4. Set the days that it apply's to

        1. These fees can either be temporal like for busy holiday times

        2. These fees can be across every day

      5. Click Save

Based on Business Hours

  1. Configure your After Hours Fees

    1. Click into the appropriate Primary Service

    2. Select Hours & Fees

    3. Click into the Fees section in the upper right hand corner

    4. Click "Add After Hours Fee"

      1. Name the Fee

      2. Set the amount

      3. Set the days that it apply's to

        1. These fees can either be temporal like for busy holiday times

        2. These fees can be across every day

      4. Click Save
