Managing Class Templates

If a class needs editing but cannot be modified directly, it’s common to duplicate the class, make changes to the new version, and archive the original. However, it’s essential to understand how this affects any scheduled classes associated with the archived version.

How Archiving Affects Scheduled Classes

When a class is archived:

  • Existing Scheduled Classes: Any classes already scheduled with the archived version will continue to point to the original, archived class details. This means that any descriptions, levels, or details from the archived class will remain unchanged for those scheduled sessions.

  • New Scheduling: Going forward, when you add the same class name (e.g., "Bronze") to the schedule, it will pull details from the newly created version of that class.

Replacing Archived Classes in the Schedule

If no students are currently booked into the scheduled classes associated with the archived version, it’s a good idea to replace these with the updated class version to avoid any confusion. Here’s how:

  1. Delete Scheduled Sessions: Locate and delete the classes that are currently pointing to the archived version.

  2. Re-schedule with the New Version: Add the class back to the schedule, ensuring it pulls details from the newly created class version.

This process ensures consistency in class details across your schedule and minimizes potential confusion for students booking into your studio.
