Updated today

The Master Route (also called Master Sequence) is where you manage the core stop order for your recurring routes. From this view, you can adjust your master stop order, compare it to upcoming service days, make one-day overrides, and publish updates.

Accessing the Master Route

You can open the Master Route in two different ways:

1. From the Main Header

  • Click Master Route / Master Sequence from the top navigation bar.

  • Select the route you want to view or edit.

2. From the Route’s Action Menu

  • Open any specific route in your system.

  • Use the Action menu.

Select Master Route / Master Sequence.

In this case, the route context is automatically pre-filled.

Understanding the Layout

When you open the Master Route, you’ll see two major sections:

1. Master Route (Left Side)

This is your core sequence of stops.

It remains visible as you scroll so you can easily compare it to upcoming service days.

2. Daily Routes (Right Side)

Each column on the right represents an upcoming service day.

You’ll see the stop sequence for that specific date, including any temporary changes.

Color Indicators & Highlights

The Master Route view uses visual cues to help you quickly understand what’s happening.

Selected Stop Highlight

When you click on a stop, it highlights across all days where that stop appears.

This helps you compare its position day-to-day.

Missing Stop Indicator

If a stop exists on the Master Route but does not appear on a specific service day, it’s marked as missing for that day.

Sequence Difference Warning

If a stop’s position on a daily route doesn’t match the master sequence, it’s shown in a warning state.

This helps you quickly identify days that do not align with your master order.

On-Request / One-Off Stops

Stops that do not follow the standard recurring schedule—such as on-request or one-time pickups—appear with distinct visual styling so you can easily tell them apart.

Editing Stop Sequences

You can adjust the sequence at both the master level and the individual day level.

1. Editing the Master Sequence

Reordering stops in the master sequence updates the order for all upcoming days that are set to follow the master. **Drag and Drop not currently available**

Select the stop on the Master column and update the stop number. This will reflect across the whole board.

2. Editing a Single Day

You can rearrange stops on an individual day without affecting the master sequence.

This is useful for temporary scheduling changes, road closures, or special instructions.

3. Apply / Opt-Out Checkboxes

Each route has a checkbox that allows you to decide whether that route should:

  • Follow the master sequence, or

  • Maintain its own custom daily order

Unchecking this option prevents the route from automatically updating when the master order changes.

Using the Map View

A built-in map helps you visualize your route and understand spatial relationships between stops.

Day View vs. Master View

  • Day View: Displays the map for a specific service date

  • Master View: Displays your overall master route layout

You can toggle between these views at any time.

Sequence Line

Turn the sequence line on/off to show or hide the connecting line that represents the stop order.

Travel Path

In Day View, you can display the actual travel path for the selected day.

Containers on the Map

Container locations appear as map pins.

Clicking a pin will highlight the corresponding stop in the list, tying the map view and list view together.

Activity Log

The Activity view shows a detailed history of updates.

Types of Activity Entries

There are two kinds of entries:

  1. Master-Level Changes
These show updates made to the overall route pattern (e.g., “moved stop in master sequence”).

  2. Daily-Level Changes
These show route adjustments made on a specific date.

Branching (Draft / Test Mode)

Branching allows you to work safely without affecting live routes.

How Branching Works

  • You can create a branch (similar to a draft mode).

  • Make changes to your master sequence over time.

  • When ready, publish the branch to apply those changes to the live master route.

Important Note

Branches apply only to the master route—not to individual daily routes.

Importing & Exporting (CSV)

You can bulk-edit your master sequence using CSV files.

Export the Sequence

Download your current master sequence as a CSV file.

This file includes the stops and their current order.

Edit Externally

Open the CSV in any spreadsheet tool (Excel, Sheets, etc.). Do not delete any details or change any details, only use the CSV to reorder the route, moving the rows to the right stop.

Reorder rows to adjust the sequence.

Import Back Into the System

Upload your edited CSV to the Master Route screen.

The system will automatically update the sequence to match the new order.

SAVE CHANGES aka Publish

Whenever you make edits—either to the master sequence or a daily route—you must publish your changes.

Publishing ensures the updates apply to the live route.

After publishing, you’ll see a confirmation that the changes were successfully applied.
