The planned route may not always match real-world efficiencies. By importing the driver’s completed sequence:
Routes can be optimized based on real behavior
Future schedules reflect accurate stop order
You avoid manually rearranging large route lists
You maintain a clean and consistent master sequence
Getting Started - Export the Driver Route Sequence
Go to the Reporting tab in the main navigation.
Under Field Operations, select the Driver Sequence report.
Set the Beginning Work Order Date and Ending Work Order Date to the same day for the route you want to analyze.
From the Route Name dropdown, select the specific route you wish to update.
Click the header for the Serviced at UTC or Serviced at Local column to sort the stops in ascending chronological order. This reorders the list to show the actual sequence the driver followed.
Click the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner of the table and select Export.
From the export options, choose CSV to download the file. Do not select the Excel format.
Open the Route in Route Manager & Create a New Branch (Draft Mode/Sandbox)
Navigate to the Routes tab.
Locate the route you want to update, click the three-dot menu on the route card, and select Master sequence.
Click the New branch button at the top right of the screen. A branch is a draft version of your route where you can test changes without affecting the live route.
In the pop-up window, enter a descriptive Branch name (e.g., 'Imported Driver Sequence') and click Save.
Click the Import button.
In the Import sequence window, drag and drop or select the CSV file you previously downloaded.
Click Import to apply the sequence from the file to your new branch. The stops on the board will reorder to match the driver's actual path.
Review the new sequence. You can switch to the Map view to visualize how the route path has changed.
When you are ready to make the changes permanent, click the Update button.
In the dropdown menu, check the box next to Live to confirm you want to publish these changes.
Click the blue Update button again to finalize the changes. The new sequence is now the live master route for all future dates.
Summary
This article provides a step-by-step guide on exporting a driver's completed route and using that data to update a master sequence. By creating a 'branch,' you can safely import and review the actual sequence before publishing it as the new live route, ensuring your future routes are optimized based on real-world performance.
