How do I find an inspection?
Go to Review > Inspections.
The Out of Service, Awaiting Review, and Awaiting Repair counters at the top right can be clicked to quickly filter and show those reports. Clicking them again removes the filter.
You can also use the search bar to search by truck, route, or driver, as well as filter by inspection status, pre-trip vs. post-trip, and date frame.
When you find the inspection you want to review, click the arrow to its left to expand its details.
How do I decide whether or not a defect keeps a truck out of service?
Open an inspection and go to the Checklist tab.
Here, you’ll see each item along with your driver’s assessment of it: Good or Defective.
On a Defective item, click View Detail to see the driver’s notes.
In the screen that follows, you’ll see the Driver Report for the item. Click the corresponding Supervisor Decision button at the top to mark whether or not the item puts the truck out of service or if it is acceptable as per safety and regulation standards.
Every Supervisor Decision requires a dated signature.
If a truck has at least one item marked Out of Service, you’ll see a OOS badge and Awaiting Repair status on your list of inspections.
How do I record a repair?
Open the defective item. Add a comment explaining the repair. We recommend adding photos, too, to ensure clarity for you and your team.
Then, click Save Comment.
Followed by Mark Repaired.
If you accidentally marked something as repaired, you can undo it be clicking Remove Repaired Mark.
Once every issue is marked acceptable or repaired, the inspection status will move to Awaiting Confirmation.
Mechanics with the Inspection Repairs permission set to Full can also do this from their tablet by:
Opening the inspection in Hauler Hero Road
Tapping Repair Action
Then marking repaired items
How do I put a truck back into service?
Before we continue, know that the driver who filled out the inspection cannot put a truck back into service.
To put a truck back into service, first open its report. It’s status should read Awaiting Confirmation.
Click Process Repairs.
In the prompt that follows, add your notes and signature, then choose your next action.
If the repairs are insufficient or problematic, click “Send Back.”
Clicking Send Back will keep the truck out of service and all items marked as repaired will need to be repaired again.
If the repairs are sufficient and the truck is in safe, working order, click “Confirm Back into Service.”
Clicking Confirm Back into Service will prompt you “Vehicle returned to service” and update Status to Signed.
What does each Status mean?
No Defects -- Nothing in the inspection report flagged an issue.
Defects Noted -- The driver flagged an issue, but it was deemed Acceptable and does not take the truck out of service.
Awaiting Review -- The driver flagged an issue that has not yet been reviewed yet.
Awaiting Repair -- At least one out-of-service item hasn’t been repaired yet.
Awaiting Confirmation -- Every out-of-service item is marked repaired and the truck is waiting for sign off to go back into service.
Signed -- The truck is back into service.
Does marking a truck out of service stop drivers from using it?
No, it is just a status on the inspection report. Make sure your drivers know to check a truck’s status before they head out.
