Helios offers climate risk forecasting and historical climate risk information for all commodities. Our metrics are available for all growing locations, regions, countries and even globally per commodity. The Climate Tab is designed to give procurement managers and commodity traders an in-depth understanding of the climate factors impacting the production and yields of commodities worldwide. It focuses on the top exporting / producing countries and the top producing regions within those countries, providing both current and forecasted climate data.

About the Climate Tab:

The climate tab is broken down into different levels. Each level, or page, has its own set of features.

The four levels of the climate tab are:

  1. Global Level - the first page you see when you click on the climate tab, this level shows information about the crop globally, and summary information about all countries available.

    1. It features a climate table, a “Weighted Climate Risk” chart, and a growing season calendar.

    2. To get to the country level, click on a blue-colored country name in the climate table.

  2. Country Level - the second level, and what you see once you have clicked on a country name. It shows information specific to the country you selected, as well as summary information about the regions that make up the country.

    1. It features a climate table and four charts (Climate Risk by Main Risk Factor, Climate Risk by Severity, Temperature Risk, Precipitation Risk)

    2. To learn more about the production regions that make up the country, click on a blue-colored region name in the climate table. This will take you to the region level.

  3. Region Level - the third level, and what you see once you have clicked on a region name. It shows information specific to the region you selected, as well as summary information about the individual growing locations that make up the region.

    1. It features a climate table and four charts (Climate Risk by Main Risk Factor, Climate Risk by Severity, Temperature Risk, Precipitation Risk)

    2. To learn more about any individual growing location, click on a blue-colored location name in the climate table. This will take you to the growing location level.

  4. Growing Location Level - the final and fourth level, and what you see once you’ve clicked on a location name. This page operates differently from the other pages and shows more in-depth information. As a “base” layer, this is where we are collecting specific climate data, whereas the rest of the layers are aggregate layers (a combination of multiple growing locations). It features:

    1. Key metrics at the top of the page, including an explanation of why the location was given its seasonal climate risk rating.

    2. Climate Risk Graph + KPIs, Temperature Risk Graph + KPIs, Precipitation Risk Graph + KPIs

Regardless of what level or page you are on, you can find relevant information about the page by clicking on the “info” icon in the top right corner of the page.
