Why hasn't my leaderboard rank or milestone updated?

Both are calculated on an hourly schedule rather than instantly, so a recent sale can take up to an hour to show. Nothing is broken and there is nothing to trigger.

Written by Eddie Lavandera

Both the leaderboard and your milestones are calculated on a schedule, roughly once an hour, rather than the moment a sale lands. If you made a sale in the last hour, wait and check again. There is no button to force an update, and refreshing the page does not help.

In this article:

Why it works this way

Ranking every Atlas store against every other one, and re-evaluating 21 milestones per store, is expensive. Doing it on every page load would make the dashboard slow for everyone. Instead Atlas calculates both in the background on a regular cycle and shows you the most recent result.

The leaderboard carries the note For optimal app performance, the revenue on this leaderboard shows more recent and accurate data.

Up to about an hour after you open the milestones card

Milestones have one extra quirk: opening the milestones card is what queues the next evaluation for your store, and only one evaluation runs per store per hour. So the first time you look after crossing a threshold, you may be the one starting the check. Come back a little later rather than reloading repeatedly.

ℹ️ Refreshing, logging out, or reinstalling changes nothing here. The schedule is the schedule.

If it has been longer than that

Work through these in order.

  1. Confirm the sale is actually counted. Atlas excludes cash on delivery orders, test orders, and orders that are unpaid, refunded or voided. If the sale that should have moved your rank is one of those, it will never count. See Why is my revenue showing as zero when I have sales?

  2. Check the period. The leaderboard covers the current calendar month only, and resets on the first. A sale on the last day of last month does not count towards this month's rank.

  3. Check which revenue the milestone uses. Four milestones measure bundle and upsell revenue rather than total revenue: Profit multiplier, Revenue specialist, AOV specialist and Upsell expert. Those need added revenue from your offers, not general store sales.

  4. Wait one more cycle. If a scheduled run was missed, the next one picks it up.

If the leaderboard shows We couldn't load the leaderboard. Refresh the page to try again. or milestones show We couldn't load your milestones. Refresh the page to try again., that is a loading failure rather than a delay. Refresh once, and if it continues past a few minutes, contact support.

If the revenue itself looks wrong

If your rank has updated but the revenue figure beside it is not what you expect, the cause is almost always the exclusions rather than the schedule. Atlas revenue omits several categories of order on purpose. What each dashboard metric measures lists all of them.

Still stuck

Start a chat from the bubble in the bottom right of Atlas, or email support@helloatlas.io. Include your store URL, the sale or threshold you expected to register, and roughly when it happened. Support can check whether the scheduled evaluation ran for your store.
