Navigating the Atlas dashboard

A tour of the Atlas home screen, from the greeting at the top to the milestones at the bottom, and what every control does.

Written by Eddie Lavandera

The dashboard is the first screen you see when you open Atlas, and it is where you will spend most of your time. It does three jobs: it shows how your store is performing, it launches every build tool, and it lists everything Atlas has made for you.

To reach it, open Atlas from your Shopify admin, or select Home in the Atlas menu in the left sidebar.

In this article:

The header

The greeting reads Good morning, Good afternoon or Good evening with your first name, and underneath it a running total: Atlas AI has generated {amount} for your store this month.

ℹ️ That subtitle is always month to date. It does not change when you change the date range below it. The date range controls the metric cards and the revenue chart only.

Three controls sit on this row:

  • The date range, showing Last 30 days by default. Open it to pick another range or Custom, which gives you Since and Until fields.

  • Notifications, which shows an unread count when you have one.

  • Create new, the primary button for starting anything.

Creating something new

Create new opens a modal titled Create with Atlas AI, asking How would you like to get started?

Before you choose a tool, it asks where the result should live: Select project: with the note Choose where your generated assets will be stored. Pick an existing project, or select + Create a new project and name it inline.

You cannot skip this. If you try, you will see Please select a project before continuing. If you already have 25 projects, creating another shows You can have a maximum of 25 projects.

Performance at a glance

Four cards sit below the header:

Card

What it counts

AI revenue

Revenue attributed to your Atlas store

Cart upsell revenue

Extra revenue from cart drawer offers

Bundler revenue

Extra revenue from bundle offers

Revenue per visitor

Average revenue per visitor

Each card has a tooltip explaining exactly what it measures. Read them once, because bundler and cart upsell revenue are incremental, not gross: they measure the lift in average order value from customers who took an offer, not the total value of those orders. Full definitions are in What each dashboard metric measures.

Use the arrows at either end to scroll the row. Every card requires a project, the same as Create new.

ℹ️ Not every card appears on every store. Which cards you see depends on which Atlas features are enabled for your store.

Projects and your content

This is the main working area, and it takes up most of the screen. A list of projects sits on the left, and a table of their contents on the right.

The project rail. All projects shows everything, and each project below it shows an item count. Drag the divider to resize the rail, or double-click it to reset. Select New project to add one.

The tabs. The table has four content tabs plus settings: Stores and pages, Landing pages, Bundles, Cart drawers, and Project settings. Stores and pages share one tab, so a full store and a single product page sit in the same list.

The columns change with the tab, because different things are worth measuring:

Search, filter and sort. Each tab has its own search box. Filter by project narrows the list, and the sort control toggles between newest and oldest first.

Status badges. Every row shows Published or Draft. A row you have just changed briefly shows a Just saved marker.

Assigning to projects. Each row carries a small project pill. Select it to move the item, assign it if it shows Unassigned, or remove it from its project. You can select several rows and assign them together. A project that has reached 25 items shows Project full, and a bulk assignment that will not fit shows how much room is left.

Row actions

Every row has an Actions menu. Some of these change Atlas, and some change your theme, which is the single most useful thing to understand on this screen.

Action

What it does

View

Opens the page

Edit

Opens the page in the Atlas editor

Publish again

Re-publishes the page to your theme

Test a new angle

Builds alternate versions of this page with a new angle. On a product page row this writes three versions to compare.

Restore original homepage

Puts back the homepage Atlas replaced

Restore Atlas homepage

Puts the Atlas homepage back again

Delete

Removes the item from Atlas

When a homepage action affects a theme that is not live, Atlas adds the note Applies to a theme that isn't your live theme — your storefront won't change. Switching confirms with Original homepage restored or Atlas homepage restored. If it fails you will see Couldn't switch the homepage. Please try again., in which case try once more.

⚠️ Delete removes the item from Atlas only. A page you have already published stays live in your theme, and you must remove it from the theme separately in Shopify. Deleting also does not reduce your published pages count for billing that cycle.

Deleting one item asks Are you sure you want to delete {name}? This action can't be undone. Deleting several shows how many, warns This can't be undone., and adds a line if any of them are live: {count} of these are published and live on your store.

Theme extensions

A permanent card showing whether each Atlas extension is working on your published theme, with the theme named in the subtitle.

Atlas Bundler

Hover any extension name to see what it does. If Atlas cannot read your theme you will see Couldn't check your theme extensions. Re-check in a moment. with a Re-check button.

This card is the fastest answer to "why is my bundle not showing" and "why is my cart drawer missing". See Checking your theme extensions status.

Revenue chart and activity log

Revenue growth & conversion plots Store revenue, Bundler, Upsell Revenue, Atlas page conv. rate and AOV over the date range you selected in the header. The conversion series covers Atlas-built pages only, not your whole store.

Beside it, the Activity log lists what has happened in Atlas: pages published, bundles activated, cart drawers changed. Those entries also appear as markers on the chart, so you can see whether a change moved the numbers. You can add your own dated notes, which is how you mark things Atlas cannot see, such as an ad campaign starting. See Reading and using the activity log.

Leaderboard and milestones

Atlas entrepreneur leaderboard ranks stores by revenue for the current month. You appear as an anonymous AtlasUser#ID, never by store name, and so does everyone else. Select View all for the full list.

Milestones tracks 21 achievements as your store grows, showing {achieved} of {total} achieved.

Both update on a schedule rather than instantly, so a sale you just made will not move either one immediately.

Banners you may see

None of these are permanent, and all can be dismissed or snoozed.

  • Setup guide, a five-step checklist for your first weeks. See Using the Atlas setup guide.

  • Bundle nudge, prompting you to create a bundle, or to activate one you built but never added to your theme.

  • Affiliate, inviting you to earn commission for referring other merchants.

  • Review request, which appears after your first sale through Atlas and asks Congrats on your first sale! How has Atlas been for you?. If your store was already in line for this prompt before the first sale became its trigger, you see How was your experience using Atlas: AI Store Builder? instead. If you see You cannot leave a review this time, Shopify is not accepting a review from your store right now, usually because one was left recently. Nothing is wrong with your account.
