Your theme already holds 300 block files, the most Shopify allows in one theme, so Atlas can't add the files a new page needs. The full message is:
This theme has reached Shopify's 300-block limit, so Atlas can't add this page to it. Publish to a different theme, or contact support and we'll help you publish it here.
The quickest fix is to publish into a different theme. If you want the page in this theme, contact support: a teammate can remove the Atlas block files nothing in your theme uses, then publish the page for you.

What the limit counts
Shopify counts the block files stored in your theme's code, in its blocks folder, whether any page uses them or not. It is not the number of sections or blocks you see on a page in the theme editor, so a theme can be full even when its pages look short.
ℹ️ Shopify has separate limits inside a template: up to 25 sections per template and up to 50 blocks per section. Those are different limits with different messages.
Why your theme filled up
Every Atlas page uses block files that Atlas adds to the theme you publish into. As Atlas pages improve, publishing a page adds the newer files, and the older ones stay in the theme in case an earlier page still uses them. A theme you have published many Atlas pages into over several months collects these files. Themes that already ship with a lot of blocks of their own reach 300 sooner.
Fix 1: Publish to a different theme
The message opens in a window titled Theme block limit reached. Select Choose another theme to open the theme picker at the top of the editor, pick another theme in your store, and publish again.
Another theme has its own block files, so this works as long as that theme has room. A theme from the Shopify Theme Store that you have not published Atlas pages into usually has plenty. To add one, go to Online Store, then Themes, in your Shopify admin.
⚠️ A duplicate of the full theme does not help. Duplicating a theme copies every block file, so the copy is full too.
A page published into a theme that isn't live only shows on your store once you publish that theme. See Publishing to a theme that isn't live.
Fix 2: Ask support to make room in this theme
Select Contact support in the same window. It opens a chat with the error already written in and asks for a teammate. If the chat can't open, an email to support@helloatlas.io opens instead.
A teammate checks which Atlas block files no page in your theme uses, removes them, and publishes your page. They need collaborator access to your store to do this, so they will send you a collaborator request to approve in your Shopify admin. Only Atlas's own unused files are removed; your own files are left alone.
What does not help
What you might try | Why it doesn't free space |
Deleting or hiding sections in the theme editor | Sections on a page are not block files |
Duplicating the theme | The copy holds the same 300 files |
Publishing again | The theme is still full |
Deleting the page in Atlas | It doesn't remove any files from your theme |
⚠️ Don't delete files from your theme's code yourself unless you are sure nothing uses them. A page that still uses a deleted block breaks on your storefront. If you do it, work on an unpublished copy of the theme first.
