Managing Roles

Managing roles in the HelloHacker dashboard allows you to control which users have access to specific features. Here's how you can create, edit, or delete roles directly from the cloud portal.

Accessing the Roles Page

There are two ways to get to the Roles section:

Creating a New Role

  1. On the Roles page, click the red + Add button in the top-right corner.

  2. Fill out the required information:

    • Name (French) and Name (English) - both fields are required.

    • Select the permissions this role should have. You can choose from:

      • Can manage users : Can invite new teammates, edit basic account details, activate/deactivate users, and assign or change their roles. Also sees the full user list.

      • Can manage roles and permissions : Can create, edit, and delete custom roles, and turn individual permissions on/off for each role.

      • Can manage device templates : Can create, edit, duplicate, and delete templates used when deploying new devices/sensors. Controls the default settings and metadata in a template so new deployments are consistent and quick.

      • Can manage products : Can add, configure, rename, and remove products that are available to the organization.

      • Can manage licenses : Can view license status, usage, and allocate licenses.

      • Can manage whitelists : Can create and maintain whitelists so known-good traffic or actors are exempted from alerts and automated actions, as defined by your organization’s policy.

      • Can manage blocklists : Can create and maintain blocklists so known-bad sources are consistently flagged or denied according to your organization’s policy.

  1. Click Save to create the role.

Editing an Existing Role

To edit a role, just click on its name in the list. Update the details or permissions as needed, then save your changes.

Deleting a Role

To delete a role, click the trash icon next to it.

Note: Some built-in roles, like Administrator, may not be deletable.
