Custom User Types

Updated over 2 years ago

Our Injury Management System holds a lot of sensitive information. For this reason, User Types exist to manage varying levels of access to the system. We have developed a number of standard System User Types. These System User Types are unable to be adjusted.

In order to meet the needs of our users, Client Admin Users are able to build Custom User Types as required. These Custom User Types are built based on one of the existing System User Types and then can be adjusted as required.

To see the User Types that are available in your account go to the User Types page under Security in the Settings area.

CREATING AND EDITING CUSTOM USER TYPES

To create a custom user type, select Add from the User Types page.

From here, type in the name you'd like to use for the Custom User Type. We recommend making these names quite specific.

Once you've entered the name, adjust the Injury Workflow if required, and then select which existing system user role this needs to be based on.

Once this information has been configured, select Save and you'll then be returned to the User Types page. From here, to configure that user role, select the meatball icon (...) at the end of that row and then select Edit Access.

You'll then be taken to the 'User Type Access Editor' page where you can configure that user type as required.

Reporting Access can be updated so that the custom role has either Admin access, standard access or no access to your reporting suite.

Under Application access, you can toggle the role requirements as required. In this example, this user role needs to be able to delete Notes so we need to toggle on the button under the Delete column for Notes.

Once you've made the required updates to the Custom Role, select Save.

The Delete option for Payments will provide a Self Insured user the ability to Null a payment.

DEACTIVATING A CUSTOM USER TYPE

If you no longer need a custom user type, you have the ability to deactivate it. By deactivating the user type, you still have visibility within the User Types page, but you aren't able to assign it to a user.

Before you can deactivate a custom user type, you must update all users that currently use the custom type to an active user type.

To do this, from the User Types page select the meatball icon (...) at the end of that row and then select Deactivate.
