ADDING A MEDICAL CERTIFICATE REMINDER

To manage medical certificate reminders on a record, a 'Send Med Cert Reminder' feature is available. This will automatically send an email, SMS or both, to alert the recipient that a new certificate of capacity is due in three (3) days.

Admin users have the ability to adjust the number of days this type of alert will appear in the system or be sent externally to recipients (as an email/SMS). For guidance on how to do this, see the Managing Tasks article.

Reminders can be activated to alert the employee, their manager or even the rehabilitation consultant that a new certificate is required.

To activate this feature, go to the injury record and from the Details menu, select Contacts.

From the Contacts page, you are able to add a new contact and then tick the applicable Send Med Cert Reminder box. A valid email address and mobile number must be entered for the Send Med Cert Reminder to work.

A default SMS message must be set up for your account before you can use this feature and can be done by a system admin user on the Account System Settings page. If you would like this feature enabled, reach out to your system admin for further assistance with this.

For existing contacts, you can also activate this feature by editing the contact.

To do this, click on the '...' at the end of the contact row row select edit, then simply check the Send Med Cert Reminder box.

EMAIL TEMPLATES

There are different email templates that are generated depending on the 'Contact Type' of the person being sent the reminder.

An injured employee will receive the following email:

All other contact types, excluding the injured worker, will receive this email:

You can turn off this feature at any time by following the above steps and simply unchecking the Send Med Cert Reminder box.
