Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings History

Updated over 2 years ago

The Compensation Calculator across all states uses the Pre-Injury Average Weekly Earnings (PIAWE) History to determine which PIAWE/AWE to use in calculations, rather than always using the latest value displayed in the Compensation Calculator Details section.

EXAMPLE SCENARIO

For example, if I am generating a Compensation record with a "From" date of 20th April 2020, then the system would be using PIAWE = $1450 and AWE = $1450 (the top record).

However, if I am generating a Compensation record with a "From" date of 20th August 2019, then the system would be using PIAWE = $1439.06 and AWE = $1439.06 (the bottom record).

If I am generating a Compensation with a "From" date of 20th August 2018, then I would be using PIAWE = $1439.06 and AWE = $1439.06 (the bottom record), as the Weekly Benefit's "From" Date is before the earliest "From" date in the PIAWE History table.

CREATE A NEW PIAWE RECORD

To change the current PIAWE record, update the PIAWE values in the Compensation Calculator Details section and select 'Save'. Once you've selected Save a new PIAWE record will appear in the PIAWE history table with a from date of today.

EDITING HISTORIC PIAWE RECORDS

If you need to do historic calculations within Solv, you can edit historic PIAWE values from within the PIAWE History table. To do this, simply find the PIAWE record you need to edit, then click the three buttons to the right of that record and select Edit.

From here, you can adjust the 'From' date for that PIAWE record, along with the PIAWE amount and the AWE amount. Once you've made your required updates to the PIAWE record select Save.
