Create Static or Dynamic Lists in Contacts Management

Using Search is the most common way to create an audience, but did you know you can create lists in Contacts > Management as well? Contacts management is a great tool to view lists on a micro-level, allowing you to view who is actually in the list before you save it. Save lists to keep track of your volunteers, users, supporters, and so much more.

Access Contacts Management

List creation happens from Contacts > Management in the left sidebar.

Filter and Save

Choose options in 'Filter by' to narrow down the individuals you want to include in your list.

After selecting your filters, use the list as-is, or check individual names. You are not required to check boxes next to names in Contacts Management, unless it is your goal to only save those individuals to a list.

Select 'Save' from the bottom action bar and choose between a Static or Dynamic List:

Static List

Dynamic List

This list will only save people who are currently on this list. If new people are added to the filters, they will not join this list.

This list will change over time as more individuals are added to the filtered categories.

Example: This list is consists of people who live in the city of Arlington, VA. People moving in/out of this location will NOT be added/removed to the list.

Example: This list consists of the tag 'Support', which indicate people who support a candidate. Adding others to the tag WILL add individuals to this list.

A sidebar will appear to let you name and save the list.

Retrieve a Saved List

Lists can be retrieved from the 'Saved Lists' section of the Filter By column.
