Understanding Vote Histories and Movers

While reviewing vote histories, you may encounter unexpected search results, particularly in states where party affiliation is not listed on the ballots. These anomalies often arise from voters relocating from states that do include party affiliation on their ballots.

For instance, a voter who resided in Iowa and participated in Republican Primaries might move to Wisconsin. Consequently, this voter will appear in Wisconsin voter history searches as having participated in Wisconsin Republican Primaries.

Similarly, in the case of canceled primaries, where search results display a low number of voters, it is likely that these searches are identifying individuals who have relocated from other states where they previously voted in a primary.

To exclude voters who have recently moved from your search results, you can apply the "NCOA: Not Moved" parameter. This option is available under the "Locations" filter tab within the Search and CRM Search functionalities.

Below, you will find a map that illustrates which states include party affiliation on their ballots and which do not.
