Overview
The 4D Viewer is divided into four main functional areas:
Navigation Toolbar (Work Panel): A fixed vertical toolbar on the far left of the screen. Use this to toggle the different feature menus and timelines.
Main 3D Canvas: The central viewport where the interactive 3D map, BIM geometries, and telemetry devices are displayed.
Detail drawers (Side Panels): Slide-out panels that appear on the left and right sides of the canvas when a menu item or a map feature is selected.
Timeline drawer: A collapsible bottom pane that displays timelines for tracking telemetry devices or project tasks over time.
3D Scene Controls
You can navigate the 3D canvas using your mouse, keyboard, or touch inputs.
Action | Mouse Control | Keyboard Control |
Pan (Move Flat) | Click and drag with the left mouse button. | Use the Arrow keys to move north, south, east, or west. |
Zoom In / Out | Scroll the mouse wheel up (zoom in) or down (zoom out). | Press the |
Rotate (Heading) | Click and drag with the right mouse button, or hold | Hold |
Tilt (Pitch) | Click and drag up/down with the right mouse button, or hold | Hold |
Zoom to Area | Hold | N/A |
Reset Orientation | Double-click the map canvas to center on a point. | Press the |
Tip: To navigate below the surface level (e.g., to view underground sensors or tunnels), make sure the Underground Navigation setting is toggled on in the Display Options menu.
Navigation Menu (Work Panel)
The left-hand Work Panel contains icons to activate specific panels and tools:
Selection Inspector (Top): Opens the right-side detail drawer. Displays metadata and properties for any currently selected device, BIM element, or event filter.
GIS Menu: Manage active base maps, terrain elevation layers, and custom map layers overlays.
Tobe Projects: Select and load active construction projects. Activating a project loads its associated BIM geometry and construction schedules.
Devices (Instruments): Browse and select loaded telemetry devices, check status, and locate them on the map.
Alerts: Access the notification center to view real-time alert logs from monitored instruments.
BIM Hierarchy: Browse the active project's structural components categorized by levels, categories, and families.
Event Filters: Filter and highlight specific activities and milestones.
View States: Save current camera views and active layer configurations, or jump back to previously saved viewpoints.
Display and Visibility Options
Floating controls appear at the top and left margins of the 3D Canvas to customize your view:
Visibility Settings (Eye Icon)
Click the Eye Icon in the top left of the 3D canvas to toggle specific visual layers:
Device Elements: Toggle Labels, Icons, 3D Models, and sensor movement Paths.
BIM Elements: Toggle the visibility of the building models entirely.
Visibility Filters
When items (devices or BIM elements) are selected on the map or in the hierarchy tree:
Show/Hide Selected: Hides or displays only the items you have currently selected.
Show/Hide Deselected: Hides or displays everything except the items you have selected.
Show All: Resets visibility constraints and shows all elements on the canvas.
4D BIM View
Click the 4D BIM View toggle button to link the BIM model geometry with the construction schedule timeline. This allows you to visualize the progression of physical construction tasks over time.
Bottom Timelines
The timelines at the bottom of the screen let you control the temporal dimension of your project data:
Devices Timeline: Plays back and tracks historical telemetry data streams. Use the playhead slider to scrub to a specific point in time and watch sensor readings change dynamically.
Tasks Timeline: Shows the Gantt chart of the project schedule. Tracks tasks against the 3D BIM model to animate the physical construction stages.
