Overview

Minew Helmet Tags (and associated Bluetooth Low Energy Eddystone/iBeacon tags) are compact, low-cost wireless beacons attached to personnel safety helmets, wristbands, ID cards, small tools, and site materials.

Because BLE tags do not contain internal GPS modules, they continuously broadcast encrypted Bluetooth signals that are picked up by nearby BLE Gateway devices (such as the Dart3 BLE, Manta Fusion, Barra Edge, or Hawk Data Logger) located within a 50-meter radius.

How BLE Tracking Works

  1. Beacon Signal Transmission: The Minew Helmet Tag broadcasts a unique MAC address and Eddystone ID every 1–2 seconds.

  2. Gateway Reception: A nearby gateway device (e.g., a Dart3 tracker on a ute, a Manta Fusion inside a gang box, or a Hawk logger at a gate) receives the tag signal.

  3. Location Implication: The gateway packages the tag's unique ID with its own high-accuracy GPS coordinates and uploads it to the Tobe Twin platform.

  4. Platform Resolution: Tobe Twin resolves the tag's spatial position to within 50 meters of the receiving gateway.


Telemetry & Derived Analytics

RAW Data Captured:

  • Unique Tag Identifier: MAC address or Eddystone Unique ID (UID).

  • Signal Strength (RSSI): Received Signal Strength Indicator used to estimate proximity to gateway.

  • Implied Gateway Location: GPS coordinates provided by the receiving BLE gateway device.

Implied Platform Analytics:

  • Estimated Location: Position mapped within 50 meters of the receiving gateway.

  • Location History: Breadcrumb trail of tag movements derived from successive gateway detections over time.

  • Workforce Zone Headcount: Count of personnel present in specific work zones or tower sites.

  • Driver Assignment: Automatic driver-to-vehicle pairing upon entering the vehicle cab.

  • Zone Access: "Who accessed the 5th Floor of the building today?"

  • Site Headcount: "How many workers are currently at Tower Site 62?"

  • Transport Audits: "Who was on the site bus out to the Northern Site yesterday?"

  • Gate Logging: "Who entered the site via Gate 4 on Sunday?"

2. Driver Identification

  • Vehicle Pairing: Automatically log driver identity when a worker carrying a BLE tag enters a ute equipped with a Dart3 BLE tracker.

3. Materials & Small Tools

  • Laydown Yard Tracking: "Where is MK50934 steel beam located in the laydown area?"

  • Material Audits: "When was that spool of steel wired cable last seen?"
