A selection set is a shortcut to saving a element selection for later use. This functionality is crucial for efficiently managing and navigating through complex BIM models, which can contain thousands of individual elements, so that the time taken to create a complex selection can be saved for subsequent workflows.

To create a selection set, first select elements, and then save the selection for later use.

Create Selection

First make a sub-selection of 1 or more model elements. Selections can be made 4 ways within Tobe Builder.

  • Manually via individual sequential selection (SHIFT + click)

  • Marquee selection (Space + click and drag)

  • BIM Hierarchy Selection

  • Search Set BIM Links

  • Via task link shortcuts in the inspector.

Save Selection Set

Once a selection has been made, it can be saved by clicking "Create Selection Set" from inspector action panel.
