How to assign a staff member
Open the shift you want to fill by either:
Clicking Assign on the shift row, or
Clicking the row itself
In the Assign Staff window, you can:
Search staff by name, email, or phone
Click a staff member to select them
Click Assign to confirm the assignment
If you try to assign without selecting a staff member, Imploy will prompt you to choose one first.
What to expect after assigning
Once assigned, the shift is no longer treated as vacant and the Vacant Shifts list refreshes. If something prevents the assignment (for example, a validation rule on the backend), you’ll see an error message explaining it. Once assigned, the staff member will receive a push notification through the mobile app that they have been assigned to the shift.
Manual assignment focuses on speed. If you want help choosing the best-fit staff member (based on travel, familiarity, and schedule), use AI Assist instead.
