If you are here to monitor your SMS campaign, you've made it to the right place.

This is the guide to ensure that each of the campaigns sent to the SMS seed list will properly generate and how it has landed with different mobile carriers.

Step 1: Add Your Sending Number

Be sure to include the sending number(s) used in your SMS Sending Platform before deploying a campaign to the seed list. This way, our backend will be able to properly monitor each campaign being sent.

Step 2: Downloading and Sending to the Seed List.

Currently, our platform only monitors carriers in the US and Canada.

Click on the Gear icon, then Setup and Integrations.

From here, you can download the most recent version of the Seedlist - SMS.

This will include each of the phone numbers that we track to view each carrier's results.

This can easily be uploaded to your SMS provider/ESP as a list.

After you've sent your SMS campaign to the seed list, it may take a few minutes for the full placement results to begin populating.

Testing SMS with Braze

Our partners at Braze have made SMS Testing quick and easy via two similar methods: Content Test Groups and Individual User Sending (by number).

After creating an SMS or MMS message, you can send a test message to the seed list:

  1. Draft your SMS or MMS Message.

  2. Choose the Test tab within Braze, then select either your Seedlist Content Test Group or insert individual seed numbers within the Add Individual Users input.

Lastly, click Send Test to send your Test Message

Short Message Testing

As an alternative testing method for short messages, navigate to the SMS subsection of your Inbox Monster platform and select "Create Test" to generate a message alongside the short message number.

Step 3: Accessing Your Results

Sending a campaign to the SMS seed list from your sending number, as outlined above.
Once you've sent your SMS message to the Inbox Monster SMS Seedlist, results will populate within the Delivery > SMS subsection of the platform.

You will then find previews of your SMS message and the average carrier placement rate. Clicking any of the subject messages showcases the delivery, contents, and links. This also shares the preview on iOS and Android devices in a Locked, List, and Message view.

Your SMS test will include a breakdown of several key elements:

  • Date/Time Sent

  • Character Count

  • Message Content

  • Carrier Placement (US and Canada)

    • Fully Exportable

  • Content Analysis

    • Spam Detection

      • This module lists out spam words detected within the content. These words may have an impact on delivery.

    • Unsubscribe Mechanism Check

      • This section checks the content to ensure a proper unsubscribe mechanism exists.

    • CTR Reputation

      • This section runs the root domain of the CTR through the Spamhaus Domain Reputation system.

  • Link Analysis

  • Device Preview

    • iOS vs Android

    • Locked, List, and Message Views

Troubleshooting

If your test message is not populating within your instance as anticipated, the following steps can be taken to troubleshoot.

  • Confirm your Sending Number is correct, and formatted properly

    • Long codes require "+", short codes do not

    • Including internal test numbers in sends can help confirm numbers used

  • Ensure there is no dynamic content within your SMS message. Message reports are grouped by the content they include, and variations can result in incomplete or duplicate reporting.
