The vehicle must ALWAYS be in Accessory Mode for one minute, before placing your OBD Genie into the OBDII port, as the Genie can't be read by your vehicle when it's running. However, if the Genie programming is unsuccessful, with navigation not showing as an option in your display, and you have a 2019-year GM vehicle, or a Chevy Colorado or GMC Canyon of any year, your firmware may be preventing programming.
Go into 'Settings', then 'About' and find the version.

If it's vA03 or lower, you're okay. Restart your vehicle, turn it back to accessory, let it sit one minute then put in your OBD Genie.
βIf it's vA04 or higher, your Genie, that has now seen your VIN, will have be returned to Infotainment, where that information can be used to make correct the issue and the fix will be sent back as a Genie label "*G-NAV*."
