Send a designed email to a group of contacts in a few steps: name your campaign, choose a sender, write a subject line, pick recipients, design the email, and schedule it.
Before you start
Make sure you've already authenticated your domain and added a sender. If you haven't already, please check out this article: How to Add and Authenticate a Sender Domain. Make sure the contacts you want to reach have given email consent.
We also recommend doing a warm-up campaign before you send out the first email in bulk. This is a crucial step because we need to show the mailing providers (Gmail, Hotmail, etc.) that the combination of the Innercrowd IP and your domain is trustworthy and has a smaller chance for your emails to land in spam. Check out this article on how to set up a warm-up campaign.
Step 1: Start a new email campaign
Go to Campaigns in the left sidebar, then click Create Campaign. Choose Email.
Step 2: Name your campaign
Give the campaign an internal name so you can find it later, then click Continue.
Note: This name is only visible to your team, recipients never see it.
Step 3: Choose a sender
In the Sender step, select which authenticated domain and sender name the email should come from.
Step 4: Add a subject line
In the Subject step, enter the Subject (up to 60 characters) and an optional Subline (preheader text) that shows next to the subject in most inboxes.
Step 5: Choose recipients
In the Recipients step:
Under Send to, select the segments, tags, or contacts who should receive the campaign. This is a required field, so you need at least one segment, tag, or contact selected to continue
Optionally, under Don't send to, exclude specific segments, tags, or contacts
Under Has consent for, confirm which consent type recipients must have (defaults to Email)
Consent Types
The "Has consent for" filters your audience to contacts with matching consent status. You can change it to a different or additional consent type, or remove the filter entirely for campaigns that don't require consent, like announcements or event info. Removing the filter should stay exceptional, though, as doing it regularly hurts sender reputation and open rates. Check out this article on how to manage consents while sending out a campaign.
Below that, the consent page setting controls which page contacts see when they click unsubscribe. It defaults to the standard consent page, but can be swapped for a custom one if you've created it for that campaign or concept. Check out this article on how to create custom consent pages.
Step 6: Design the email
In the Design step, click Start designing, then either:
Reuse the design from a previous campaign under the Campaigns tab
Reuse a saved template under the Templates tab
Pick a ready-made design under the Template library tab
Start blank with Create from scratch
Edit the content in the drag-and-drop editor. Drag in Columns, Button, Image, Heading, Paragraph, and other blocks from the right-hand panel. When you're done, click Add Design to Campaign.
Step 7: Schedule or send
In the Schedule step, choose Send now to send immediately, or Schedule to pick a delivery date and time. Click Preview and test first to send yourself a test email.
