What are customer activity notifications?
Customer activity notifications allow you to automatically notify customers when certain store credit or gift card actions occur, such as issuing credit, sending a gift card, or processing a store credit refund.
You can choose to notify customers via Email, Push notification, or both, depending on your setup and preferred communication flow.
Here’s how each method works:
Email Notifications let you send branded, customizable emails that provide customers with detailed information about their store credit. Email notifications are enabled by default for all reminder types and can be fully customized to match your brand’s design.
Push notifications are real-time messages sent to customers’ mobile devices. They’re ideal for immediate, attention-grabbingespecially when credit is about to expire or hasn’t been used in a while.
Note: To receive Push notifications, the customer must first add your store’s Mobile Pass. Learn more about Mobile Pass here
Types of Notifications
Notifications are automatically triggered by key events in your store. For each event, you can decide whether to send an Email, a Push notification, or both.
Here are the main notification events:
Store credit refund: Notifies customers when their order is refunded with store credit.
Store credit received: Notifies customers when they receive new store credit.
Gift card received: Notifies customers when they receive a new gift card.
Gift card reminders: Reminds customers about unused gift card balances.

Gift card email expiration policy
For security reasons, gift card links expire 7 days after the original email is sent.
Since gift cards hold actual monetary value, we limit the timeframe to reduce the risk of unauthorized access in case someone gains access to the customer email inbox.
Once the link expires, the gift card is still valid, but a new email with a new access link will be sent automatically to the same address when the customer clicks the expired link.
When clicking an expired link, this message will appear:
Please note: This expiration screen is a fixed security measure and cannot be customized.
