As an author, you can turn your legacy course into a tasks course without losing all of the work you've created.

How to turn your legacy course into a tasks course

It is important to note that once you have switched the toggle to turn your course from a legacy course to a tasks course, this cannot be undone.

  • Find the legacy course on your Create dashboard

  • Click DUPLICATE

  • Give the tasks course a unique name (or change the name of the legacy course) so you can easily differentiate between them

  • Turn the Use Tasks toggle to yes on the Name tab. If you do not see this toggle it means you are already in a course using tasks as the toggle will only appear if you are in a legacy course.

What's changed?
When you turn a legacy course into a tasks course all content, resources and videos will remain so you don't need to rebuild the course from scratch. However, all activities, quizzes and assessments will have been removed. This is why we always recommend duplicating the course so that you have the original course to refer back to as you add tasks to your new course.

Adding tasks to your new course
You now need to go through the course and add in assessed and non-assessed tasks and quizzes to replace the activities and assessments that have been removed. These articles will walk you through how to do this.

No longer need your legacy course?
When you no longer need the legacy course it's a good idea to archive this from the create dashboard.  To do this simply click on the kebab menu and select ARCHIVE on the menu. You can un-archive it at any time by going to the Archive section at the top of your course dashboard.
