Manage users can hide individual pages of a course under Content when creating a new class activation.
Note: You can only hide/unhide pages when you are first activating a class. Once activated, you cannot hide/unhide pages for that activation.
Why would I want to hide pages?
Hiding pages allows you to tailor content for specific classes. You can have one “source course” with specialised content that can then be shown or hidden as needed for each class activation.
For instance, you might create a course that:
Has regional or workplace specific case studies which you can show/hide depending on the class.
Has a blended or online-only version with different methods for capturing discussion that you can show/hide.
Has a “refresher” option for learners who don’t need to do the whole course again, they just need to complete a few key pages and tasks to show competency.
Then if any updates are needed to the general content within the source course, authors can edit and republish, and the updates will flow out to all the contextualised class activations.
Authors can hide pages within a course, but when the course is republished, those pages are hidden for all classes. With this option, you can have contextualised classes, that are still maintained in one place.
How to hide pages within a class activation
Select the Content tab when activating a class to see all the sections, subsections, and page titles in the course.
To hide a page, select the eye icon. To unhide it, select the eye icon again.
The ID you see directly after the page name is the unique page ID for this page. Page IDs are found at the end of a course page URL and can be useful to help you be confident you are hiding a specific page.
