Manage users can hide pages of a course under Content when creating a new class activation.

Why you might want to hide pages

Being able to hide pages for a class means you could have one “source course” with specialised content that can be shown or hidden.

For instance, you might create a course that:

  • has regional or workplace specific case studies which you can show/hide depending on the class

  • has a blended or online-only version with different methods for capturing discussion that you can show/hide.

  • has a “refresher” option for learners who don’t need to do the whole course again, they just need to complete a few key pages and tasks to show competency.

Then if any updates are needed to the general content within the source course, authors can edit and republish and the updates flow out to all the contextualised class activations.

Authors can hide pages within a course, but when the course is republished, those pages would be hidden for all classes. So with this option, you can have contextualised classes, that are still maintained in one place.

How to hide pages

When you are in the activation setting, go to the Content tab. From here, you can see all the sections, subsections, and page titles in the course.

To hide a page, select the eye icon and the icon. To unhide it, select the eye icon again.

Important notes

  • You can only hide/unhide pages in class activations of tasks-based courses

  • You can only hide/unhide pages when you are first activating a class.

  • Once activated, you cannot hide/unhide pages for that activation.

  • All content is unhidden by default.
