How to Plan Instruction

Kit makes planning a breeze!

Updated over a month ago

While working in Kit, you can quickly create a plan for your next event, so you know what you're going to teach from start to finish!

Any events from your Calendar that include students will appear on the Schedule page. Use the arrows at the top to navigate to a specific day, week, or month.

You can also use the 'Create Event' button to add additional events. Gray lines will appear on the Schedule page for past events (whether Instruction was started or not).

Getting Started

  1. Click 'Start Instruction' under the Actions column to start planning.

  2. If you've already added your students' IEP goals in the Caseload page, they will pre-populate in your plan. You can also use the 'Add a Goal' button to add additional goals or click HERE to see how to add that info to your student's profile.

  3. Click above or in between goals to add notes for Instruction.

  4. Use the toolbar or the front slash ( / ) key as a shortcut to add goals or media resources (ex: pdfs, images, or videos).

Editing your group

While planning your event, you can easily view all students included in the session in the upper right corner of the page. Click on the 'Edit' button to quickly add or remove students from the event.

Viewing Previous Sessions

You can also view details from your previous session event! This provides you with a helpful reference point, allowing you to quickly review where you left off.

On the right side, you will see a 'Previous Session' header along with the date of your students' most recent session. Simply click on the drop-down arrow to view the following information from that event:

  • Student attendance

  • Goals targeted

  • Quantitative and qualitative data recorded for students' goals

  • Session wrap-up notes

Note: Only data/notes from that particular group will appear in the previous session section of your plan.

When you're done planning, click the 'Finish Plan' button to save your changes before planning your next event.
