Note: This article references IB DP exam-style questions. For IGCSE, these are called Test practice questions.
When you receive an exam-style question assignment ('Test practice questions' for IGCSE) you will first receive an email that will act as a notification. Make sure to have push notifications on for your email so you can instantly see when you receive an assignment.
You can then log in to Kognity, where you will find your exam-style question (Test practice question for IGCSE) assignments on the right-hand side under the Assignment heading, listed in order of the time remaining until the deadline, with the shortest time at the top!
When you are ready to start the assignment, click 'Take assignment now.'
Once you have clicked on the assignment, you will be taken to the assignment overview, where you will be able to see which exam-style questions your teacher has assigned for you to work on.
You now have the option to answer the questions directly in the platform! Each question comes with a text editor where you can type your response. The editor supports:
Text formatting — bold, italic, and underline
Lists — bullet points or numbered lists
Insert — add additional content such as images or links
Math — insert mathematical equations and formulas
Tables — add a table to your response
Code — insert code snippets
Image — upload or insert images to support your answer
Simply type your response in the "Type your response here" field and use the toolbar to format your answer as needed.
Helpful tips:
You can view Example Answers and Mark Schemes once your teacher has unlocked them, but we recommend not looking at them until you have tried to answer the questions yourself. Trying first will give you the most honest result. After you have done your best, you can compare your answer with the example answer provided by Kognity.
Make sure to read the Submission Instructions, as your teacher may also ask you to submit your answer in a specific way.
