Ok, now that you imported your orders to Kosmo from your E-commerce store or from an excel file you are ready to group your orders into efficient routes. Kosmo's route optimization will create the most cost and time effective routes based on your constraints.

Creating routes in Kosmo only takes a few clicks, but the flow might differ if you are using your own fleet or relying on third party couriers. We will show both flows:

Create routes for your own drivers

If your are using Kosmo to manage your own fleet, you must first add your drivers to Kosmo. This step is particularly important for the optimization as you will be defining both the drivers' limitation (e.g vehicle, weight capacity) and your route's constraints (e.g maximum stops per route, round trip, etc...).

In this example, we have 3 drivers with different vehicles and capacity...

... and each driver can complete no more than 15 stops per route.

Once the drivers are added and the route settings are defined, go to Plan orders to manager your orders.

  1. Select the orders that you want to create the routes for and click "Optimize routes"

2. Select the driver that you want to create the routes for.

3. You can view each route on a map. This will give you an idea of what area each driver will cover.

4. Once the routes are created, you can click Confirm and send the routes to your drivers. You'll be able to track all your deliveries in the Active orders dashboard.

Create routes for third party couriers

Creating and optimizing routes is not only important for businesses using their own fleet, it can significantly decrease the delivery costs also when using 3rd party couriers as Kosmo will split the orders optimizing for the delivery fee:

  1. Once your orders are imported to Kosmo, select the orders that you want to create the routes for and click "Optimize routes"

2. After the routes have been created, select them and assign them to the cheapest courier (top left button "Auto-assign")

3. Once the courier has been assigned to each route, click Confirm and track all your deliveries in the Active orders dashboard.
