Your pet isn't chipped yet? Not to worry! If your pet is not yet chipped, you can have them chipped after your insurance starts, or even after you have submitted a claim. The claims team will still process your claim accordingly.
Why is a microchip important?
✔️ A microchip is essential as it allows for clear identification of your pet during medical treatments. This is useful for insurance as we can verify that the treatment was done to the insured animal.
✔️ Additionally, a microchip is incredibly useful if your pet ever gets lost, runs away, or goes missing in an emergency (e.g., a fire or natural disaster). With a registered microchip, your pet can be identified and hopefully reunited with you quickly.
✔️ It is a legal requirement in the UK that all dogs and cats are microchipped and details kept up to date.
✔️ Lastly, if you plan to travel or relocate with your pet, the chip number must be recorded in their EU pet passport to allow entry into other countries.
