You can now make your emails more personalised than ever, ensuring everyone gets the right information about your event at the right time using our audience builder.
Here's how it works:
Accessing the audience builder
Marketing emails: Available in the "marketing" area of your dashboard (At Event Organiser level, not at event level)
Transactional emails: Found within individual event campaign creation flows.
Creating a campaign
When creating your transactional or marketing email campaign you will be asked to choose one of two options:
Create a triggered email: After something happens
E.g. A participant registers for an event
Create a scheduled email: On a specific date or time
E.g. The race pack 1 week pre-event

💡 Note: Anyone who performs the action of a triggered email "After something happens" will receive that email. You aren't yet able to segment this audience.
Segmenting your audience
You can segment your audience for both scheduled transactional and marketing emails. You can't yet segment your 'after something happens' emails, but this is coming later this year.
You can find your audience builder in the "Audience" tab inside a campaign.
You can edit your audience by clicking "Edit" or "Create new"
Segmenting transactional emails
For scheduled transactional emails you can:
Filter by event participation: Target people who have/haven't registered for specific events.
💡 Tip: You can add more events and event instances by clicking "Edit filter group" and ticking the events you'd like to include. (See images below)
Segmenting marketing emails
For scheduled marketing emails you can:
Filter by event participation: Target people who have/haven't registered for specific events.
Target by membership status: Segment members vs non-members
Filter by race distance: Target participants based on distances they've completed
Use demographic data: Filter by age, gender and language
Advanced filtering
You can combine multiple filters using "and" and "or" logic to create sophisticated audience segments.
For example you could:
Send emails only to international runners by filtering address country "not equal to US"
Target only full marathon runners, or exclude virtual participants while including specific race distances.
Target participants who have signed up to multiple events: "Send to everyone registered for X Event AND/OR Y Event"
Sub filters
Instead of just filtering by broad categories like "people who attended Event X," sub filters let you by filtering on any data point from registration forms. For example things like custom booking form answers, participant details, add-on purchases, etc.
For example you could:
Target participant who booked "X" event and have purchased a "Parking Pass".
Send a promotional email to people who haven't purchased a specific add-on.
Target only team captains for specific messaging, if there's a column in the registration report identifying captains.
💡 Tip: Keep an eye on the "Total audience size" to see how many participants will be included in your email send.
