Fast Checkout (formerly known as “Large Group Bookings”) allows you to reduce the steps required during checkout, so that customers can complete their booking with less input and less time. We’ll only ask the essential questions related to who’s purchasing the ticket and their payment details, and participants will be able to submit additional details in a later step. For example:

  • A customer booking several tickets for a group doesn’t need to confirm all the participant’s details immediately - they can immediately secure their tickets and have extra time to collect information and confirm their participants.

  • A customer would like to secure a certain number of tickets without assigning them to specific people immediately.

Key benefits:

  • Time significantly reduced during the checkout flow. For example, for a booking involving four participants, the time required is reduced by approximately 75% as only one set of details needs to be collected instead of four.

  • Higher conversion thanks to reduced dropoffs during the checkout funnel.

    • We’ve seen an increase in conversion by 32% for baskets with 5+ tickets.

  • Reduced up-front admin needed from customers booking an event.

  • More flexibility for customers to confirm their participant details at a later date.

There are some key considerations to keep in mind before enabling this, with further detail below:

  • Participants will need to return to complete their information at a later date, risking incomplete registrations.

  • More followup communication is required after the initial ticket purchase.

What is the Fast Checkout customer experience?

For tickets with Fast Checkout enabled, we’ll show a banner at the top of the checkout screen:

Shortly after completing the transaction, we’ll send an email to remind the customer that they will still need to fill out additional information. We’ll also send follow-up reminders automatically.

Customers can follow the link to their Edit Booking Information page. From there, they can add details for each participant in the booking.

What booking fields are included in Fast Checkout?

  • Booker First Name

  • Booker Last Name

  • Booker Address

  • Booker Email

  • Marketing Opt-In

Reviewing incomplete registrations

Be aware that although checkout conversion will likely increase, you may see an increase in the number of participants with incomplete registrations who have not completed their additional details.

⚠️ Plan ahead to review for incomplete registrations and send a follow up, so you can prompt them to complete their information. You can use the Registrations Report and filter for participants who are missing data in your key fields.

Enabling Fast Checkout

Fast Checkout can be enabled on individual tickets.

In Manage Event, navigate to the Tickets tab. Press the Edit icon next to the relevant ticket:

Scroll down to the Fast Checkout section and enable the toggle.

You will also have the option to only show Fast Checkout if a minimum number of tickets has been added to the basket. This is useful if you’d like to enable it only for group ticket purchases, for example.
