In order to shape the development of skills in a structured way, you can work with learning paths in Learned. With a learning path you can:

  • Bundle relevant learning resources into one module that your employees can follow. Think of courses, videos and articles.

  • You can create different sections within this module. For example for the different parts of a traineeship. Think of different periods in time, or different themes related to the learning resources.

  • Assign entire groups of employees in one go and easily keep an overview of the progress per individual employee or per activity. Think of different teams, departments, groups of trainees, or employees with the same role profile.

Paths in the library

In the library, you can browse through different activities and learning paths. The 'Type' column shows whether it is a learning path or activity. If you see something you would like to follow, you can add it to your own (development) plan. By filtering the learning paths, you see which learning paths are available to you within the organisation and which you can also add to your own plan. To apply filters, click 'Show filters'.

Create a learning path

When you want to create a learning path, go to Learning in the menu bar, you'll see your own development plan. Here you see which activities and learning paths have already been added to your development plan. If you want to create a new learning path, view library and click 'Create new' (top right) and choose Learning path.

Step 1: Set up the path

Start with an appropriate name, description and an image. Choose whether you want to make the learning path available for everybody in the organisation, or whether the learning path can only be assigned to specific users.

Step 2. Add sections and learning resources

You can create 1 or more sections. For each section, you can add learning resources from the library. You can also create a custom activity. Note: Custom activities are only visible in the learning path and do not appear in the library. You can change the order of the learning resources in the section, but also move entire sections using drag & drop. In addition, you can specify for each activity whether it is mandatory to complete. If mandatory, participants cannot go to the next section if this activity has not yet been completed.

Edit, duplicate, and delete paths

After you have created a learning path, you can find it in the library. You get automatic editing rights for learning paths created by you. This allows you to edit, duplicate, delete and add other editors to the learning path.

Edit Learning paths

If you have editing rights for the learning path, there are several ways to be able to edit a learning path:

  • By opening the learning path and clicking 'edit' in the top right corner

  • By clicking the three small dots to the right behind the learning path and then selecting 'edit'.

You will then enter the same flow as when creating a learning path, only this time fields are already filled in.

Duplicate

If you have editing rights for the learning path, you also have the option to duplicate learning paths. You can duplicate a learning path in two ways:

  • By opening the learning path and clicking on 'duplicate' in the top right corner

  • By clicking the three small dots to the right behind the learning path and then selecting 'duplicate'.

For example, use duplicate if you want to add several similar learning paths to the library and customise the copy. When you duplicate a learning path, the copy will always appear as a draft in the library:

Add editors

Do you want others to be able to edit the learning path you have created? Then add editors to the learning path. You can add anyone from the organisation as an editor.

You also have the option to remove yourself as an editor from the learning path. You do this by clicking on 'Editors' in the top right corner. Removing yourself as an editor means that you can no longer edit and/or duplicate the learning path and you can no longer add other editors.

Deleting learning paths

Once you have created a learning path, you also have the option to delete the learning path. You can delete learning paths using the following steps:

  • Select the learning path you want to delete by clicking on the box to the left before the learning path name. You can choose to select multiple learning paths and activities.

  • Click delete in the blue bar to delete the learning path.

Note: You can only edit or delete learning paths for which you have editing rights.

Note: When you delete a learning path, you not only delete the learning path from the library, but the learning path also disappears from all users who had added the learning path to their development plan.

Add a learning path to your development plan

Once you have found a learning path that you find interesting, you can add the learning path to your development plan the following ways:

  • By opening the learning path and clicking 'Add to plan' in the top right corner

  • By clicking the three small dots to the right behind the learning path and then selecting 'Add to plan'.

Once you have added the learning path to your development plan, you can then start working on the activities in the learning path. From within the learning path, you can update the activities. On the left, you will see the different sections and activities from the learning path. Have you completed activities? Then you will also see this in the progress bar on the left-hand side.

Extra options for Coach

  • Assign learning paths to employees from your team:

As a Coach, you can assign learning paths from the library to your team members. To do so, open the learning path and click on 'Participants' at the top right. Then select your team member(s) to work on the learning path.

  • View progress of your team members' learning paths:

Open the learning path and click on 'Participants'. In this overview you can see your team members and the progress of your team members within the learning path.

Extra options for Admin

  • As Admin, you have default editing rights for all learning paths in the library. This allows you to edit, duplicate or delete all learning paths within the organisation.

  • Assign learning paths to employees within the organisation:

As Admin, you can assign learning paths from the library to anyone within the organisation. To do this, open the learning path and click on 'Participants' in the top right.

  • View progress of learning paths:

As an Admin, you can also view the progress of the learning paths. To do so, open the learning path and click on 'Participants' at the top right. Here you can see how many people are working on the learning path, and what the average progress is.
