Why do you link learning activities to a role profile?

Within Learned, it is possible to link learning activities to role profiles. Linking activities to a role profile helps employees to understand which topics/activities his or her employer considers important to follow within the job. In addition, it also provides insight into a possible ambition role, which activities can the employee follow to possibly grow towards the desired ambition role.

How to link learning activities to role profiles

To attach learning activities to a role profile, as Admin, go to Career - Job library - desired role.

  • At the top right, press the Options button and then press Add Learning Activity.

  • A pop-up will appear, you will see the Recommended activities linked to specific skills of this role profile. Under the tab 'All' you will see all activities that have been made available in the library.

  • Select the activities you want to link to this role profile and add them. In the role profile, under the tab 'Learning' you will see the activities you just linked to this role profile.

How to edit/add Learning Relevancy categories

To each learning activity we can link a Learning Relevancy category. In Learned, 3 are defined by default:

  • Required

  • Optional

  • Recommended

To rename or add Learning Relevancy categories go to: Career - Job library - Options (top right) - Edit Learning Relevancy Categories. A pop-up will appear where you can rename or add categories.

How to add a learning relevance category to an activity

Once you have set up the Learning Relevance categories, you can then link them to activities. By doing this, you indicate which activities are required, recommended or optional to follow for the role profile.

Go to Career - Job library - desired role. Under the tab 'Learning' you will see the activities you have linked to this role profile. In the column 'Relevancy' you can indicate which Learning Relevancy category should be linked to this activity.

Progress of learning activities in Career module

When activities are linked to a role profile, you will also see them in the Career path page. In the Career overview the different relevant categories are shown together with the progress of activities per category. From the Career page you can easily see how far you are in completing activities linked to the job profile, but it also shows the employee which activities are linked to, for example, an ambition role. In this way the employee may already start with these activities.
