1. What's in your Dashboard?
Your Dashboard is a central repository of key contracts, agreements, and other documents for your organization’s workspace. These include documents uploaded by you and your team.
Saving documents to your Dashboard enables you and your team to quickly access version lists as you review and negotiate and enables you to search for prior contracts and precedents to aid in your review. All contracts that you upload into LegalOn are automatically stored in your Dashboard.
2. What features does it contain?
a. Search and Filter
The search bar at the top of your Dashboard helps you locate documents quickly. You may search by file name, contract title, or party name.
In the search bar dropdown, you may select from a list of counterparty names, and filter by status or who uploaded the document. That way, it is easy to find the document(s) and precedent language you need to help you review and negotiate.
If you would like to search for clauses within a document, click on "Search for clauses" in the navigation bar. Read more in "How to Search for clauses"
b. Upload
Click "+ Upload" icon at top of page to upload a file or a folder with multiple files onto the Dashboard.
You can also upload a document by clicking "Review" in the navigation bar, which will take you to the Preview page directly. Read more in "How to Review documents"
c. Download
Download a document by clicking "..." on the far right of the corresponding row.
You may also download a document from the Preview page. Read more in "How to Preview documents" and "How to Download documents"
d. Edit file name, contract title or party name
You can edit file name, contract title or party name all by clicking "..." on the far right of each document. Editing such metadata enables you to accurately filter and search for documents and clauses.
Read more in "How to edit metadata about your contracts"
e. Update document status
LegalOn's "edit status" feature allows you to track and update your document status. Accurate agreement status also helps you to filter and search for contracts and clauses by status. Depending on the stage of your contract negotiation, you may change document status to one of the following:
Own draft
Counterparty draft
Reviewed
Counterparty redline
Final version
Signed version
You have two ways to update document status:
Option 1
Update for a single document by clicking "..." on the far right of a row
Option 2
Edit status in bulk (for one or multiple documents) by clicking on the "edit status" icon that appears on the same row as "Reload" after you select the document(s)
Once you've changed the document status, a tag with the updated status will appear right under the document name.
f. Delete
Similar to e. Update document status above, you also have two ways to delete document(s) from your workspace.
g. Combine files into one version list
From the Dashboard, you may combine different versions of the same contract into one version list. You can see the version list displayed on the left-hand side of your Preview page.
You also have the ability to compare the combined document with previous versions. Read more in "How to Compare contracts"
3. What limitations should I be aware of?
a. File Type Compatibility
Currently, file types supported by the Dashboard include:
.doc
.docx
.pdf
Image files (e.g., .jpeg or .png) are not supported at this time.
Note: File type compatibility is specific to each feature of the LegalOn product. In other words, file types supported by the Dashboard might not be supported by other LegalOn features. For example, .pdf is supported by the Dashboard but not supported by Editor (beta). This will change as we continue to improve our product functionality.
Read more in "File Type Compatibility"
b. Bulk Upload Limit
Our system allows up to 100 documents to be uploaded at once using the bulk upload feature on your dashboard.
c. Processing Refresh
When uploading a single document on your dashboard, refresh your screen to see the document. It will show as "processing" until you hit refresh.
