How to Ask a Participant to Share Their Screen

Screen sharing on Bello is smooth and straightforward and we’ve made it feel as easy as asking a friend to pass the salt at dinner.

Here’s how it works when you want a participant to share their screen.

Step 1: Send the Screen Share Request

Hover over the participant’s video (or name tile if their camera’s off). You’ll see a row of icons pop up on the top right.
Click the fourth icon — the one with the little up arrow in a box. That’s your “please share your screen” request button.

Step 2: The Participant Sees the First Pop-Up

As soon as you click, Bello sends your request. The participant will see a pop-up that says:
“The host has requested that you share your screen.”

They get two choices:

  1. Cancel (maybe they’re not ready yet)

  2. Share Screen (let’s go!)

If they hit “Share Screen,” that’s when the next step kicks in.

Step 3: Choose How to Share

Once they’ve agreed, they’ll see another pop-up with three options for how they want to share:

  1. Share a Browser Tab
Great if they only want to show one tab. This option also lets them share audio — there’s a little toggle to turn sound on or off.

  2. Share a Window
Perfect if they just want to show a single app or document without distractions.

  3. Share the Entire Screen
The full view — everything on their desktop. Best if they’ll be switching between different apps.

Step 4: Managing the Share

Once the share is live, the participant gets a small widget with a Stop Sharing button. They can click it anytime to instantly end the share.

Meanwhile, you’ll see their screen appear right in Bello.
