Navigating the New Lifeway On Demand Mobile App

Here’s a detailed guide on how to navigate the main sections of the app.

The Lifeway On Demand app is designed to provide an intuitive and seamless experience as you engage with your discipleship resources, studies, and events.

Library

All Studies

In the "All Studies" section, you will see all the studies you have acquired or redeemed. Each study is displayed with:

  • Study Cover

  • Title

  • Author(s)

Library Search

The Library now includes a helpful Search option at the top of the screen. As you type, the app will suggest results that match your studies, events, and eBooks. You’ll see titles, authors, and contributors that match your search appear in real-time.

To view full results, press search or tap a suggested search result. From there, you can:

  • Scroll through a list of matching results

  • Filter by content type (Study, Event, eBook)

  • Select any result to jump right in

Search is designed to help you quickly find the content you’re looking for so you can stay focused on the study or event that matters most.

Selecting a Study

You can scroll through your available studies or use the Sort feature (default: “Recent”) to organize them alphabetically (A-Z, Z-A). Once you select a study:

  • You’ll see all the available sessions.

  • You can view a session by selecting it, which will open the player at the top of the screen with the first session queued to play.

  • You also have the option to Download individual sessions for offline viewing.

Downloaded

The Downloaded section shows all the study sessions you have saved to your device for offline access. In this section, you can:

  • View the progress bar for each session, showing how far you've progressed.

  • Select a session to open it in the player.

  • Remove a study from your device once you no longer need it by selecting the "Remove" option.

  • While downloading, you can see the progress and choose to Cancel if needed.

eBook Engagement (Beta)

For users who have enabled Beta Features, eBooks now appear alongside your studies and events in the Library tab. If you’ve redeemed an eBook on your Lifeway account, you’ll find it here.

When you select an eBook:

  • The full reading experience opens directly in the app

  • You can scroll through each chapter, tap the Table of Contents to jump to sections, or page to the next chapter

  • You can search within the eBook to find specific terms or phrases

  • You can create Highlights, Notes, or Workbook Responses (for Bible Studies) as you read

  • All your annotations are saved to your account and can be reviewed in the Annotation Manager, accessible from the top of the reading view

Annotations

The Annotation Manager lets you filter by annotation type and view everything you’ve marked in that specific eBook. This makes it easy to revisit insights and keep your notes organized as you engage with content that fuels ministry and personal discipleship!

Events Tab

All Events

The All Events section is where you can browse Past, Upcoming, and Current Events.

  • Upcoming and Current Events will link you to live.lifeway.com, where you can log in with your Lifeway account and participate in live sessions.

  • Upcoming Events also provide additional information and any available resources for the event.

  • Past Events: If you have extended access to a past event, you’ll be able to:

  • View all available sessions, similar to how you interact with a study.

  • The first session will default to the player, and you can scroll to see what’s "Up Next."

Downloaded Events

This section shows any event sessions you’ve downloaded for offline access, working similarly to how the study downloads function.

Casting and Device Connections

In the top right corner of the app, you can:

  • Cast the app to a connected device or select a Bluetooth device (e.g., headphones).

  • Instructions are provided for connecting to Airplay, Chromecast, or a Bluetooth device to enhance your viewing experience.

User Icon Settings

Selecting the User Icon in the top right gives you access to the following options:

Terms of Use

Review the Lifeway On Demand app’s Terms of Use.

Support

Access the in-app support feature to:

  • Chat with a Customer Service Representative.

  • Submit bug reports.

  • Suggest enhancements and provide feedback.

  • Browse the Knowledge Base and other Help materials.

Privacy Policy

View the app’s Privacy Policy.

Display Settings

Customize how the app looks by selecting:

  • Light Mode

  • Dark Mode

  • Device Default (follows your device settings)

Video Feed Setting

Choose from different video feed settings:

  • ASL (American Sign Language)

  • Spanish

  • Open Captions

  • Standard

Downloads Quality

Set your default download quality for study sessions:

  • High (1080p)

  • Medium (720p)

  • Data Saver (270p)

You can also specify whether you allow downloads over a cellular network.

Beta Features

Enable early access to Beta Features for testing and providing feedback on new functionality.

Version

See the current version of the mobile app you're using.
