Reading the CSB in Lifeway On Demand (Mobile)

The Lifeway On Demand app now offers an exciting way to engage with the CSB Bible, enhancing your reading and study experience.

Navigating the CSB

Once Beta Features are enabled, you can start navigating the CSB Bible:

  1. Open the CSB Bible:

    1. Tap the CSB (Beta) tab on the landing page.

  2. Top Left Menu (Books and Content Tabs):

    1. Books of the Bible: This tab is organized by categories for both the Old and New Testaments, allowing you to easily browse through the books of the Bible.

    2. Content: This tab provides access to additional articles and resources that enrich your Bible reading experience.

  3. Annotations:

    1. Tap the Annotations button (located next to the menu icon) to view your:

      1. Highlights (verses you've highlighted)

      2. Notes (your personal thoughts or study insights)

      3. Bookmarks (passages you want to revisit)

    2. From here, you can:

      1. Delete any annotation (Highlight, Note, or Bookmark).

      2. Edit your Notes, including changing the Title/Subject and the content of the Note.

      3. Tap any annotation to quickly navigate to the corresponding Bible passage.

  1. Font Size:

    1. Adjust the font size for easy reading. Tap the Font Size button and choose between:

      1. Small

      2. Medium

      3. Large

  1. Search:

    1. Use the Search feature to look up key words or phrases throughout the Bible.

    2. Enter the term you’re looking for, and the app will display relevant verses and passages.

Reading and Engaging with the CSB

  1. Chapter Navigation:

    1. The app allows focused engagement by loading one chapter at a time.

    2. Use the forward and backward buttons to move between chapters seamlessly.

  2. Highlighting, Bookmarking, and Notes:

    1. To interact with a verse, press, hold, and drag across it.

    2. Options will appear to:

      1. Highlight the verse in a color of your choice.

      2. Add a Bookmark.

      3. Create a Note with a Title/Subject and content.

  1. Smooth Scrolling:

    1. The app offers seamless and smooth scrolling, allowing you to focus fully on the content of God's Word, chapter by chapter, as you navigate through passages.

  2. Cross-References:

    1. Select the small cross icon within verses to view related Cross-References.

    2. Tap the verse in the footnote, and it will open in a bottom sheet where you can:

      1. Read the passage directly in the bottom sheet.

      2. Choose to open the entire chapter.

      3. Return to the original passage by tapping the "Back" icon or selecting the top half of the screen, which will close the bottom sheet.

  3. Navigation Shortcuts:

    1. As you move across books and passages, you will see small yellow icons near the backward and forward buttons.

    2. These icons help you quickly navigate back and forth between previously viewed passages, making it easy to follow along with sermons or related scriptures.

    3. For example, if you're reading John 1 and switch to a Psalm, the yellow icon will show the Book and Chapter (e.g., "John 1"), allowing you to return to your previous passage quickly.
