Generating Posts from Content Ideas

Once you've found or created an idea you want to develop into a LinkedIn post, the post generation process is very straightforward:

Initiating Post Generation

To generate a post from an idea:

  1. On the Post Ideas page, navigate to the content idea you like most

  2. Click on Generate Post to add your reqeuest to the generation queue

Important Note: The generation typically takes 10-30 seconds depending on system load. You can continue reviewing other ideas while waiting for generation to complete.

Accessing Generated Posts

Once generation is complete:

  1. Click View Post in the Post Generation Queue to see your generated post

  2. This takes you to the Publish Post page where you can review and customize your post

Pro Tip: The View Posts button will take you to your most recently generated post, not necessarily the specific post you clicked on. Always verify you're viewing the intended post by checking the idea text in the right sidebar.


Navigating the Post Customization Interface

The Publish Post page provides a comprehensive set of tools for reviewing and customizing your content:

Left Sidebar

  1. Content Calendar: Allows you to view your entire content calendar in a calendar or list format

  2. Post Variants: Tabs showing different versions of your post

  3. Search Icon: If you have too many posts to go through manually, you can search for the one for the one you like through this feature

  4. Post Categories Multiple post categories like drafts, liked, scheduled, published, recycle bin & archived

Post Content

  1. Heart Icon: Used to like the best variant of a post and save it to the Liked category, it discards the rest of the variants

  2. Keyboard Shortcuts: List of shortcuts that an be utilized to speed up your post creation process

Right Sidebar

  1. Labels: Tab from where you can modify your post lables(More on post labels in this article)

  2. Edit: Option for customizing your post's content

  3. Attach: Allows you to post images along with your post

  4. AI Edit: Allows you to improve your posts using our AI

  5. Eye Icon: Desktop/mobile preview toggles

  6. Briefcase Icon: Saves a post to the Archived category

  7. Trash Icon: Deletes a post & it's variants and moves them to the Recycle Bin

  8. Write Post from Scratch: Allows you to write a fresh custom post

  9. Import from CSV file: Used to import multiple posts at once from a CSV file(This feature is explained in more detail in this article)

  10. Speak Your Idea: Allows you to create a fresh post by narrating your idea by voice

  11. Publishing Controls: Schedule/Publish buttons

The interface also shows useful analytics about your post:

  • Character count and limit (3000 characters max for LinkedIn)

  • Estimated reading time


Working with Post Variants

LiGo generates multiple versions of each post to give you options. Each generated post comes with 4-6 variants

Switching Between Variants

To explore different post versions:

  1. Click the numbered variant tabs (1, 2, ... , 6)

  2. Each variant offers a different approach to the same content idea

  3. Compare variants to find the one that best matches your voice and goals

Pro Tip: Different variants may have completely different structures, hooks, or storytelling approaches. Take time to review all options before deciding which to use as your base.


Basic Editing Options

LiGo offers several quick ways to modify your post:

Manual Editing

For direct text changes:

  1. Click the Edit pencil icon - In this menu you can format your text or edit the content, to make it look more cleaner and/or readable

  2. Click outside the editing area or press Enter to save changes


Improvements Using AI

How It Works

For quick automated changes:

  1. Use the Change the hook button to generate a new attention-grabbing opener

  2. Use the Adjust Length button for more concise content or to expand on ideas

  3. Use the Change Tone button to make your post sound different

  4. User the Enhance Clarity button to make your post easier to read

  5. Use the Translate button to translate your post into a different language

Note: These quick adjustments use our AI to regenerate portions of your post. Results may vary, and you might need to make additional adjustments.

Effective Personalization Prompts

Your personalization instructions can include:

  • Specific content corrections: "Change the example about marketing to focus on B2B instead of B2C"

  • Structural changes: "Keep the hook but completely rework the middle section to focus more on challenges"

  • Voice adjustments: "Make this sound more conversational and less technical"

  • Personal details: "Replace the third paragraph with my actual experience at Acme Corp where I increased leads by 40%"

  • Tone shifts: "Make this more authoritative and include more data points"

Pro Tip: You can use the speech-to-text feature (microphone icon) to dictate your personalization instructions, making it faster to communicate complex changes.

After Personalization

Once your post is personalized:

  1. Review the changes to ensure they match your instructions

  2. Click Apply Enhancement if satisfied or Back to return to the previous version


Analysis Paralysis

If you’ve spent hours sifting through half-finished ideas and still haven’t finalized a single post, you’re not alone. It’s easy to lose track of time when your drafts start to pile up. That’s exactly when you need to start a focus session which is a dedicated block of time to organize & refine your content.

How to start a focus session?

  1. Click on Start Focusing - You will be presented with a modal with preset timers & the number of posts you have in draft

  2. Select the amount of time you would like to start the focus session for

  3. In focus mode, every time you delete, like a post, or move a post to archive, the counter gets filled

  4. Your session ends once you have sorted 5 posts, or when the timer runs out

Note: You can pause or end a focus session prematurely if the need arises to do so

At the end of your session, a modal will display the number of drafts you hace cleared, and how long the session lasted for


Previewing Your Post

Before publishing, it's important to see how your post will appear on LinkedIn:

Using Preview Mode

To preview your post:

  1. Click on the Eye icon in the sidebar

  2. Toggle between Desktop and Mobile views to see how your post will appear on different devices

  3. Pay special attention to your hook and how it appears in the preview (especially what's visible before ...more)

Hook Optimization

The hook (opening lines) is critical for LinkedIn engagement:

  1. Check how much text appears before the ...more cutoff in both desktop and mobile views

  2. Ensure your hook contains a compelling statement or question that encourages readers to click see more


Finalizing Your Post

Once you're satisfied with your customizations:

  1. Click Publish Now to immediately post to LinkedIn

  2. Click Schedule for later to set a future publication date and time

Focus Mode helps reduce analysis paralysis when you have too many drafts. Start a focus session by clicking Start Focusing, set a timer, and work through sorting five posts (deleting, liking, or archiving them). You can pause or stop anytime.

Q: Do I need to generate a post immediately after finding a content idea I like?

No, content ideas remain available in your account. You can return to them later by navigating to the Content Ideas page.

Q: How long does a post remain in the recycle bin?

A post will not be removed from the recycle bin unless the bin is emptied

Each generated post includes six variants, offering different ways to express your idea. You can switch between variants using the numbered tabs (1–6). Review them carefully to find one that fits your voice and message best. You can also mix elements from multiple variants using AI personalization.
