How Seasonal Pricing & Standard Day Rates Work on lo:live

Understand how pricing works on lo:live, including how seasonal rates, peak periods, and consecutive-day discounts affect the cost of hiring a space.

Updated this week

Understanding how pricing works on lo:live will help you plan your campaign budget accurately and make the most of the platform's flexible rate structures. This article explains the key pricing concepts you need to know, including standard day rates, seasonal pricing, and consecutive-day discounts.

Standard Day Rates

The standard day rate is the base price for hiring a space on lo:live. This is the rate displayed on the space listing and forms the foundation of the pricing structure. Day rates vary significantly depending on:

  • Space type and size: Larger, higher-specification spaces command higher day rates.

  • Venue quality and footfall: Spaces in premium locations command higher rates than those in other locations.

  • Location: Spaces in London and other major city centres typically carry higher day rates than spaces in smaller towns and regional venues.

The standard day rate is clearly displayed on each space listing. You can use the date selector on the listing page to see the applicable rate for your chosen dates.

Seasonal Pricing

Many spaces on lo:live operate on a seasonal pricing model, meaning the day rate changes depending on the time of year. Peak periods, when footfall and demand are at their highest, typically attract higher rates, while off-peak periods may be available at lower rates.

Common peak periods on lo:live include:

  • Christmas trading: typically from early November through to December. This is the highest-demand period of the year, particularly in retail destinations.

  • Summer school holidays: July and August, when leisure destinations and family-oriented venues see significantly increased footfall.

  • Key retail dates: Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Easter, Father's Day, and Halloween can also attract seasonal pricing uplifts at certain venues.

  • Local events: locations near major events (sports fixtures, music festivals, exhibitions) may apply event-rate pricing on specific dates.

Seasonal pricing is set by individual location providers and varies by venue. The applicable rate for your chosen dates will always be clearly displayed when you select your dates on the space listing.

Consecutive Day Rates

Many location providers on lo:live offer discounted rates for consecutive-day hires β€” i.e. when you book a space for multiple days in a row rather than a single day. This incentivises longer hires and can significantly reduce your cost per day. Consecutive-day discount structures vary by space and venue. Common structures include:

  • A flat reduced rate per day for bookings of 5 or more consecutive days.

  • A tiered discount structure where the per-day rate reduces the longer the hire period (e.g. a lower rate for 7+ days, a further reduction for 14+ days).

  • A weekly or monthly package rate for longer-term placements.

Where a consecutive-day rate applies, this will be shown on the space listing as soon as dates are added to the calendar. The platform will automatically calculate the applicable rate when you enter your hire dates.

How to See the Total Cost for Your Dates

To see the full cost for your specific dates:

  • Navigate to the space listing on lo:live.

  • Enter your activation dates in the date selector.

  • The platform will display the daily rate applicable for each date in your booking period, with a total cost summary including VAT (for UK spaces) or GST (for Australian spaces).

VAT and Additional Costs

All UK space hire fees are subject to VAT at the standard rate. Australian space bookings fees are subject to GST. These are applied automatically and clearly shown on your invoice. Additional costs, such as power, security, or cleaning services if not included in the initial booking fee, will be quoted separately and will also be subject to the applicable tax.
