Introducing Density-Based Freight Class Estimates

Updated over a month ago

We're excited to announce a brand new feature in LTL Select designed to simplify your shipping process and help you avoid unexpected charges: Density-Based Freight Class Estimates!

With our new "Estimate Freight Class" feature, you can now leverage our system to automatically calculate and suggest the correct freight class for your items, saving you time and money.

How it Works:

  1. On your Items page, switch on the 'Estimate Density-Based Freight Class' toggle.

    • Once you activate this toggle, your preference will be saved for future sessions until you decide to turn it off.

  2. When the toggle is active, LTL Select will use the following item details to estimate your freight class:

    • Dimensions: Length (in) x Width (in) x Height (in)

    • Number of Handling Units

    • Weight

  3. If you dont opt into the "Estimate Freight Class" feature and there's a discrepancy between your entered freight class and what we calculat, you'll see a helpful Freight Class mismatch error.

    • Click "apply" to use our calculated freight class.

  4. You can also use this feature while uploading Orders.

    • In the Order Upload modal, toggle on the 'Estimate Freight Class' toggle.

    • When you're uploading your orders via CSV, simply leave the Freight Class field blank.

By leveraging the new "Estimate Freight Class" feature, you can streamline your shipping process, improve accuracy, and minimize the risk of unexpected charges.
