Two Ways to Import Contacts
You can bring your contacts into LTL Select in one of two ways, depending on what you already have:
LTL Select template: Download our sample .csv, fill in your contact details, and upload it.
FedEx.com export: Already have an address book exported directly from FedEx.com? Upload that file exactly as it is, no reformatting required.
Part 1: Prepare Your Import File
Proper file preparation is the key to a successful import.
Option A: Using the LTL Select Template
Download the Template: To guarantee success, you must use our template. This ensures your column headers and formatting are correct.
Go to Contacts > Import Contacts and click the link to download the sample file.
Fill in Your Data: Open the .csv file in a spreadsheet program (like Excel or Google Sheets). Fill in your contact details without changing, moving, or deleting any of the column headers.
Save as a .csv File: When you are finished, save the file in .csv (Comma Separated Values) format. Uploading other file types like .xls or .xlsx will cause an error.
Option B: Using Your FedEx.com Export
If you already have an address book exported directly from FedEx.com, you don't need to reformat it or match it to our template. Just make sure the file is saved in .csv format, and upload it exactly as it is in Part 2 below.
Part 2: Upload to LTL Select
From the main menu (☰), navigate to Contacts.
Click the Import Contacts button, located in the top-left area.
In the pop-up window, choose the option that matches your file:
Under LTL Select template, click Upload File to select your prepared template .csv.
Under FedEx.com export, click Upload File to select your address book export from FedEx.com.
A confirmation message will appear to let you know the upload was successful. Your contacts are now available in your LTL Select address book.
Troubleshooting Tips
If your import fails, check for these common issues:
Wrong File Type: Your file must be saved as .csv.
Altered Headers (template imports only): If you're using the LTL Select template, the column headers in your file must exactly match the template.
Missing Required Data: Ensure all required fields are filled out for every contact in your list.
Wrong Upload Option (FedEx.com imports only): Make sure you clicked Upload File under FedEx.com export, not under the LTL Select template.
