If you forgot your VPS password or you no longer have access to the original credentials email, you can set a new password directly from the LumaDock dashboard.

This process does not require SSH access and works even if you are fully locked out of the server.

Important note before you start

Changing the server password updates the root or administrator account on the VPS. Existing SSH sessions may be interrupted and services that rely on the old password will stop working until updated.

Change your VPS password from the dashboard

Log in to your LumaDock client area using your account email and password.

Go to Your Active Products/Services and locate the VPS you want to access again.

Click Manage to open the product details page for that server.

Step 1 – Open the password change screen

In the left-side actions menu, click Change Server Password. A password reset form will open.

Step 2 – Set a new password

Enter a new password in the New Password field. The password must be at least 12 characters long.

You can also click Generate Password to automatically create a strong password.

Re-enter the same password in the Confirm New Password field.

Step 3 – Apply the change

Click Save Changes to apply the new password to your VPS.

The system will update the server credentials automatically. This usually completes within a short moment.

What to do after changing the password

Use the new password to connect to your VPS via SSH or RDP, depending on your operating system.

If you use automation tools, scripts, or control panels that store the old password, update them to avoid authentication errors.

If you still cannot connect after the reset, check the server status in the control panel or open a support ticket for assistance.

This method gives you full control to regain access to your VPS without reinstalling the operating system or losing data.
