Refund abuse prevention policy

Explains how refund abuse is handled and what actions apply to repeated misuse.

Written by Ana

The refund guarantee exists to help new customers evaluate LumaDock services in good faith.

It is intended for honest testing during the initial period, not for repeated use or exploitation.

Every provisioned VPS consumes infrastructure and creates operational and payment-related costs regardless of whether a refund is later requested. Repeated refund cycling shifts those costs onto LumaDock and other paying customers, which is why the guarantee is limited to genuine first-time evaluation.

Once the 30-day guarantee has been used, subsequent VPS purchases are not eligible for another guarantee simply because they are new services.

Abuse prevention

The refund policy is actively monitored to prevent misuse and to keep the platform fair for all customers.

Repeated refund requests or patterns of purchasing and canceling services to obtain refunds will result in loss of refund eligibility.

Examples of refund misuse include:

  • Purchasing additional VPS services and requesting refunds after they have been used

  • Repeatedly ordering, using and cancelling services in an attempt to obtain successive refunds

  • Attempting to obtain another 30-day guarantee after a refund has already been issued on the account

  • Creating or using additional accounts to obtain another new-customer refund

  • Treating the money-back guarantee as a recurring free trial or source of temporary compute capacity

In more serious situations, this behavior can also lead to account suspension or permanent account closure.

If an account shows consistent abuse of the refund policy, future refund requests can be declined even if they fall within the standard refund window.
