If you no longer need a VPS, you can cancel it directly from the LumaDock client area. The process is quick, fully self-service, and lets you choose exactly when the service should stop.

You can cancel a VPS immediately or let it remain active until the end of the current billing period.

How to cancel your VPS

Start by logging in to your client area. All cancellation actions are handled from there.

Step 1 – Open the client area

Sign in to your LumaDock account and go to the client area dashboard.

Step 2 – Select your VPS

Locate the VPS you want to cancel and click Manage to open the service details page.

Step 3 – Request cancellation

On the left panel, select Request cancellation.

Step 4 – Choose the cancellation type

Select one of the available options:

  • Immediate
The VPS is terminated right away and all data on the server is permanently deleted.

  • End of billing period
The VPS stays active until the current billing cycle ends and will not renew after that date.

Step 5 – Provide a reason

Fill in the cancellation reason field. This field is required to submit the cancellation request and helps us understand your decision.

Step 6 – Confirm the cancellation

Click the Request cancellation button to confirm. The cancellation status will be visible in your client area.

Step 7 – Cancellation confirmation message

After submitting the request, a confirmation message is displayed. If the cancellation was submitted by mistake, open a support ticket immediately to notify us. Otherwise, the cancellation process will continue and the account may be terminated.

Reversing a cancellation request

If you submitted a cancellation by mistake, act quickly.

Cancellation requests are processed automatically by the system and can take up to 24 hours to complete. In many cases, processing happens much faster.

If the cancellation has not yet been finalized, you can open a support ticket as soon as possible and ask for the request to be reviewed. If the request is still pending and has not been processed yet, a support agent can review it and stop the cancellation.

Once the cancellation is fully processed and the VPS is terminated, it cannot be restored. At that point, the only option is to deploy a new VPS.

Requesting a refund instead of a cancellation

If your goal is to request a refund under the 30 day money back guarantee, the process is slightly different and has specific requirements.

Refunds apply only to the first VPS purchased on an account and only within 30 calendar days from the activation date. Renewals, upgrades, add-ons, licenses, and additional VPS instances are not refundable.

To make sure your request is handled correctly, follow the dedicated refund guide and submit the cancellation as an immediate cancellation with the word "refund" clearly entered in the reason field. You can find the full, step-by-step instructions here: https://lumadock.com/knowledgebase/articles/13213699-how-to-request-a-refund

Submitting a standard cancellation without following the refund steps will result in the request being processed without a refund.

Important notes

Immediate cancellation permanently removes the VPS and all stored data. Always back up important files before confirming. This takes up to 24 hours complete.

If you choose end of billing period, the VPS remains fully accessible until the expiration date. Billing stops automatically after the cancellation takes effect.
