We rebuilt the Lumion admin dashboard from the ground up. The goal was simple: fewer clicks to get where you're going, and a home page that actually tells you what to do when you arrive. This guide walks through what changed, what's new, and how to find the things you use most.
What changed and why
The old navigation grew organically over time — long, flat, and not organized around how your school actually thinks about what it does. SAV3 fixes that with two big changes:
Navigation is now organized by product. Instead of one long menu, pages are grouped under the product they belong to — Engagement, Enrollment, Payments, and Success. This matches the way your team is structured and the way Lumion is sold, so finding things is more intuitive.
The home page is now built around Mia. Instead of a static dashboard, you land on a page that immediately shows you what matters today — key stats, AI-generated highlights about what changed, and quick action shortcuts. The goal is that you open Lumion and already know what to do.
The new navigation structure
The sidebar is now grouped into product areas. Here's what lives where:
Product group | What's inside |
Engagement | Inbox, Contacts, Lead Capture, Automations, Scheduling, AI-assisted comms, Customer Journeys, AI Teams |
Enrollment | Digital form submissions, e-signatures, course scheduling, enrollment workflows |
Payments | Custom payment plans, contracts, invoices, payment option hub, third-party lender flows |
Success | Attendance, surveys, outcome and retention reporting |
A few items are always visible at the top of the nav regardless of your plan: Home, Inbox, Contacts, Customer Journeys, AI Teams, and Insights.
Locked products and upgrade prompts
Products your school doesn't have access to are visible but locked in the navigation — they'll appear slightly grayed out with a lock icon. This is intentional. You can see everything Lumion offers and click through to learn what's included before deciding to upgrade.
Clicking a locked item opens an upgrade prompt showing what the product does and what plan tier is needed to unlock it. It does not take any action on your account.
If you believe something should be unlocked for your school but isn't, contact our your Lumion account manager.
The new home page
When you open Lumion, you land on a redesigned home page built around Mia, Lumion's AI assistant. Here's what you'll see:
Ask Mia — a prompt box at the top where you can type any question about your school's data. Try things like "Summarize today's payments" or "Show students with past due balances." Submitting opens the Mia side drawer with your answer. There are also three quick-tap suggestion chips if you're not sure where to start.
Quick Actions — four one-click cards for high-value tasks: creating an agentic workflow, building a report, sending an invoice, and starting an attendance session. If your school doesn't have access to one of these, the card will appear locked — clicking it shows the upgrade prompt.
Highlights from Mia — up to four AI-generated daily insights about what changed at your school, organized by product area. Each highlight includes context and a button to jump directly to the relevant area. If there's nothing to flag, Mia will tell you what it reviewed and offer to scan further back.
Product stat strips — one per product your school owns, each showing three key metrics with trend comparisons against the previous period. You can adjust the date range at the top of the page to control the comparison window.
Note on Payments stats: The Payments stat strip uses fixed 30-day windows and does not change when you adjust the date range picker. Your payout and payment numbers on the home page always reflect a rolling 30-day view — this is expected behavior.
Mia, your AI assistant
Mia is available across the entire portal — not just the home page. You can open the Mia drawer from the top bar at any time to ask questions, get summaries, or request tasks like sending a communication. Mia will ask for your confirmation before taking any action.
What Mia can do:
Answer questions about your school's data ("How many leads came in this week?")
Summarize records and activity ("Show me students at risk of dropping")
Take confirmable actions on your behalf ("Send a follow-up message to these contacts")
Surface daily highlights about what changed across your products
Mia is designed to watch your data and surface what matters — so you can spend less time hunting through the dashboard and more time acting on what you find.
Shortcuts
You can pin any page for fast access using Shortcuts. Up to 5 shortcuts per user, per school.
To add a shortcut: click the star icon in the top-right of any page header. An outlined star means it's not pinned; a filled amber star means it is. It saves instantly.
To manage shortcuts: use the Manage Shortcuts option to remove or reorder (drag to rearrange) your pinned pages.
Shortcuts follow you — they're saved to your account, not your browser, so they'll be there on any device you log in from.
You may notice Lead Capture is already pinned when you first log in. That's intentional — it's a pre-populated example to show you how Shortcuts work. You can remove it at any time, and it won't come back.
What did not change
All your existing URLs still work. Bookmarked pages resolve correctly. Only the navigation menu moved things around.
Permissions and roles are unchanged. Your team's existing access is identical.
All your data — every contact, application, contract, and payment — is exactly where you left it.
Workflows you've already built are still running with no edits needed.
School Settings (
/settings) is a separate panel and was not changed in this release.
FAQ
Why did the navigation change?
The old menu grew over time into a long, unorganized list. The new structure groups everything by product — the same way your team and your Lumion plan are structured — so finding things takes fewer clicks.
Did my bookmarks break?
No. Bookmarked URLs still resolve. Only the navigation menu changed.
Where did the old "CRM" menu go?
It was removed. Everything that used to live under CRM — Contacts, Workflows, Stages, Labels, Custom Fields — is now either top-level (Contacts) or nested under Contacts in the nav.
Can I switch back to the old dashboard?
No, this is the new default for everyone.
Why is a product locked for my school?
Your school's plan doesn't include that product yet. Click the locked item to see what's included and what tier is needed to unlock it, or reach out to your Lumion rep.
Why do my Payments numbers stay the same when I change the date range?
The Payments stat strip on the home page uses a fixed 30-day window by design — it always shows your rolling payment and payout activity. The date range picker controls other product stats but not Payments. This is expected behavior.
Lead Capture was already pinned when I logged in — did you add something without asking?
Yes, intentionally. We pre-pinned Lead Capture as an example to show you how Shortcuts work. You can remove it at any time by clicking the star icon, and it won't be re-added.
Can I have more than 5 shortcuts?
No — the limit is 5 per user per school. If you try to add a 6th, you'll be prompted to remove one first.
Is Mia always available?
Mia is available across the portal whenever you're logged in. If your school's AI access is turned off, the home page will show a "Mia is resting" message instead of the prompt box.
