Shopify stores may experience account creation doe to spams and bots, and can be blocked by the Google hCaptcha settings in Shopify. In addition, easyPoints has it's own system to detect and block spams from it's billing.
1. Tagging suspicious accounts
easyPoints will add the "spam" customer tag against customers that have suspicious texts (random alphabets) in their names. This does not have any direct influence to the account itself.
The are cases where spams have normal names that are randomly generated, or regular customers are marked as spams. Make sure to check them throughly before deleting them
2. Excluding spams from billing
If you have the sign up reward activated in your store, spams will also get counted as an active user. To reduce the influence of spams, we exclude all suspicious accounts from the active customer count used for billing.
If a spam marked account creates an order, they will be handled as a non-spam customer from then on.
The exclusion and the tagging is defined by a separate system. You cannot control the active customer count by adding or removing the "spam" tag.
If you spot any unexpected behaviors regarding spam accounts, please contact our support team: easypoints@lunaris.jp for assistance.
