Editing Existing Magma Problems

Love Magma content but want to make it your own? You can add existing Magma problems to My Books, customize them, and combine them with your own teacher-created content.

Add Existing Problems to My Books

  1. Open the My Books tab.

  2. Select the Book where you'd like to save the problem.

    • You can also click New Book + to create a new Book.

  3. Open the Folder where you'd like the problem to live.

    • You can also click New Folder + to create a new Folder.

  4. Click New Problem.

  5. Select Existing Problem.

  6. Browse the available books and choose the problem(s) you'd like to add.

  7. Click Add to My Book.

Edit a Problem

After the problem has been added to your Folder:

  1. Click the three dots (...) next to the problem.

  2. Select Edit.

The problem will open in the problem editor with the original content pre-filled.

From there, you can customize:

  • Question text

  • Images

  • Answer settings

  • Mathematical formatting

  • Standards alignment

Save Your Changes

When you're finished editing, click Save to keep your customized version in My Books. Your edits only affect your copy of the problem, they do not modify the original Magma problem.
